Positive Tone
Positive Tone Sdn. Bhd. was a Malaysian record label, established in 1993 by Jeff Siah and Kenny Tay. The label's first release is Leonard Tan's debut album. After Paul Moss and Ahmad Izham Omar joined Positive Tone, the label become one of Malaysia's top recording companies. In 1998, Positive Tone was acquired by EMI Malaysia, after the 1997 Asian financial crisis. Some of the company's famous act includes Too Phat, Poetic Ammo, Reefa, VE, Ruffedge, Juliet The Orange, Nicestupidplayground and Innuendo. The label was closed in 2003, and all Positive Tone artists was absorbed into EMI Malaysia. As part of EMI's withdrawal from Southeast Asia market in 2008, EMI Malaysia was closed. The compilation album ''Best of Positive Tone'' was the last album to be released by EMI Malaysia. Nicestupidplayground is a Malaysian indie rock band from Borneo that formed in 1992. The band has released many songs for popular compilations under several labels, namely Positive Tone, but have also managed to self-release a full-length albums in 2006, as well as one under Positive Tone in 2000. They achieved their highest success from the song "''Bedroom Window''", from the compilation '' Boys & Girls 1+1=3'' which has received numerous awards, as well as inclusion in the soundtrack to the movie Chinese Box. Poetic Ammo
Poetic Ammo (previously known as PMO or Poetic Ammunition) was a Malaysian rap/hip-hop group. It consisted of Yogeswaran Veerasingam (aka Yogi B), Chandrakumar Balakrishnan (aka Land Slyde), Nicholas Ong (aka Point Blanc), and Sashi Kumar Balakrishnan (aka C. Loco). Although most of the group's songs were written in English, the group also released tracks in Malay, Tamil, and Cantonese. Beginning The group was founded by Yogeswaran Veerasingam (aka Yogi B) in 1990. It was originally known as Poetic Ammuniton, aka PMO, with the original members Yogi B and Anand, aka McEna. PMO released a two-song single with Kenny Music (Kenny Remy Martin), "Run" and "Only You", released under Positive Tone. Anand later left PMO and Yogi B started a talent search for new members. Too Phat
Too Phat was a Malaysian hip-hop duo, composed of rappers Joe Flizzow (born Johan Ishak in Kuala Lumpur; 16 October 1979) and Malique (born Malique Ibrahim in Johor Bahru; 21 August 1977).
