Positive Beat Records is a British independent record label formed in West London's Ladbroke Grove in 1987. The label presses and sells recordings of local artists. History The label's first single "Your Love Is Quality" was released on 7" and 12" vinyl by soul/dance group Interfaze with a video promo directed by Nic Hofmeyr filmed around Ladbroke Grove. The voice of Interfaze was Maxine Harvey a London soul music singer, who had been working on the local circuit. 1987 saw the release of the label's second single "It's Getting Ruff" by Rocky X and DD Dance two local emcees of North African extraction with a cover picture on the area of ground that was developed into Sainsburys. This year also saw the recording at Addis Ababa Studios on Harrow Road of ''Known 2 Be Down'' and its release through EMI and Jet Star distribution. Soul Music

The She Rockers were a female hip hop group from London, featuring Donna 'She Roc' McConnell, Antonia 'MC Aurra' Jolly, Dupe Fagbesa and Alison Clarkson (who later found fame as Betty Boo). Career She Rockers' first release - as a trio of McConnell, Fagbesa and Clarkson - was a track on the ''Known 2 Be Down'' compilation of UK hip hop artists from West London. Dingwalls was a live music and comedy venue adjacent to Camden Lock, Camden, London, England. The building itself is one of many industrial Victorian buildings that were put to new use in the 20th century. The original owner of the building, T.E. Dingwall, had his name painted on to the outside wall of the building, which was a common practice by businesses in Camden Town during the late Victorian era. The paint is still visible to this day, hence the venue's name. The 500-capacity venue was bought by promoter Vince Power in June 2020 and continues to host gigs of contemporary music.
