He used skulls, calaveras, and bones to convey political and cultural critiques. Among his most enduring works is ''La Calavera Catrina''. Early life and education Posada was born in Aguascalientes on 2 February 1852. His father was Germán Posada Serna and his mother Petra Aguilar Portillo. Battle Of Posada
The Battle of Posada (9–12 November 1330)Djuvara, pp. 19– "''... marea bătălie zisă de la Posada (9–12 noiembrie 1330)''". was fought between Basarab I of Wallachia and Charles I of Hungary (also known as Charles Robert). The small Wallachian army led by Basarab, formed of cavalry and foot archers, as well as local peasants, managed to ambush and defeat the 30,000-strong Hungarian army, in a mountainous region. The battle resulted in a major Wallachian victory. Background Some historians claim that the Cumans aided the Wallachians in the battle. Still in the Hungarian army there was a substantial Cuman-Hungarian contingent so this variant is very improbable. In 1324, Wallachia was a vassal of Hungary, and Charles referred to Basarab as "our Transalpine Voivode".Ghyka, p. 59. The war started with encouragement from the Voivode of TransylvaniaDlugosz, p. 278. and a certain Dionisie, who later bore the title Ban of Severin. In 1330, Charles captured the long disputed Wa ... Posad
A posad (russian: посад, uk, посад) was a historical type of settlement in East Slavic lands since the Ancient Rus, often surrounded by ramparts and a moat, adjoining a town or a kremlin, but outside of it, or adjoining a monastery in the 10th to 15th centuries. The posad was inhabited by craftsmen and merchants and was its own distinct community, separate from the city it adjoined. Some posads developed into towns, such as Pavlovsky Posad and Sergiev Posad. During the 1920s administrative territorial reform in the Soviet Union, posads were converted into urban-type settlements. History The posad was the center of trade in Ancient Rus. Merchants and craftsmen resided there and sold goods such as pottery, armor, glass and copperware, icons, and clothing; as well as food, wax, and salt. Most large cities were adjoined by a posad, frequently situated below the main citadel and by a river. Posads were sometimes fortified with earthen walls. As posads developed, the ... San Giovanni Di Posada
San Giovanni di Posada (Latin: Portus Luguidonis or Portus Liquidonis) is a ''frazione'' and small village in Sardinia, Italy, on the Tyrrhenian coast of the island, in the territory of the ''comune'' of Posada. Formerly known as Marina di Posada, it underwent rebuilding in the 1970s as an elegant residential village for holidays. Its history goes back to the Roman harbour (named "Portus Luguidonis" - presumably located in the little bay in front of the ancient church of St. John), from where the Romans entered inner Sardinia. Through this harbour passed all the goods to or from Rome, but all the cargo was carried by small and light ships directed to Olbia (some 50km north), where bigger ships would have trafficked with Ostia. Traffic was supposedly intense, Sardinia bearing the ''sobriquet'' "the granary of Rome". In the immediate surroundings, it is supposed there was a temple in honour of Feronia, an Etruscan deity, goddess of the waters; this would prove the presence of Et ...
