Portobello House
Portobello House (also known formerly as Portobello Hotel) is a building on the bank of the River Ogmore, about half a mile up from the sea, near the estuary at Ogmore-by-Sea, western Vale of Glamorgan, southeast Wales, on the country border with Bridgend County Borough. It is accessed off the B4524 road. Merthyr Mawr Sand Dunes lie across the river from the house and Southerndown Golf Club lies to the southeast. It was used to describe the location of several geological features in 1933. It was formerly the Portobello Hotel and served also as a social club. During some period was run by the Prosser family. Porto Bello was the hunting lodge of the last Royal Governor of the British Colony of Virginia, John Murray, 4th Earl of Dunmore. The name commemorates the battle of Porto Bello, a 1739 British naval victory in Panama. Lord Dunmore fled to Porto Bello to escape the early stages of the American Revolution in Williamsburg, Virginia. He later boarded a British ship lying at anchor near Porto Bello in the York River. Frank Pritt
Frank Wilson Pritt III (1940-2015) was a salesperson and product manager for Harris Corporation in the 1970s, then founder of Attachmate Corporation in 1982. Attachmate went on to become Washington's largest privately held software firm. He was listed on Forbes' list of 400 richest Americans in October 1995. He announced his retirement from Attachmate, where he had held the office of president, in 2005. Frank Pritt and Julia Pritt were Seattle software entrepreneurs, and co-founded Attachmate in their living room in 1982. They were married for 28 years, divorcing in 1990. On May 17, 2006 Frank listed his estate in Orange County for sale with a price of $75 million. Portobello, West Midlands
Portobello is an area in Willenhall on the Wolverhampton side of the border, in the West Midlands, England. It is situated to the east of the city centre and to the north of Bilston, in the Bilston North ward of the city council. It was formerly part of Willenhall Urban District before Willenhall was split between Walsall and Wolverhampton. While the railway line through Portobello remains open, the nearest station is Wolverhampton. When reopened, the nearest will be Willenhall. The main bus routes are services 529 and X529, the latter being limited stop. In addition Diamond Bus 326 links Portobello with Bilston and Bloxwich. Portobello, Dublin
Portobello (, meaning 'beautiful harbour') is an area of Dublin in Ireland, within the southern city centre and bounded to the south by the Grand Canal. It came into existence as a small suburb south of the city in the 18th century, centred on Richmond Street. During the following century it was completely developed, transforming an area of private estates and farmland into solid Victorian red-bricked living quarters for the middle classes on the larger streets, and terraced housing bordering the canal for the working classes.
