Porto Challenger
The Porto Challenger was a professional tennis tournament in Portugal played on clay courts that was part of the ATP Challenger Series. Held in Porto, the first edition of the tournament was in 1982, then it was contested every year from 1987 to 1994, biannually in 1991, 1992 and 1993. It continued as a semi regular event until 1998. Libor Pimek (born 3 August 1963) is a former professional male tennis player. Pimek's best Grand Slam singles result came at the 1987 US Open when he reached the 3rd round, losing to Swede Mats Wilander in straight sets. Stefan Koubek
Stefan Koubek (born 2 January 1977) is a retired tennis player from Austria. Koubek played left-handed with a double-handed backhand. His idol when growing up was Thomas Muster. Koubek won three titles, two of which came on hardcourts; despite this, he said his favorite surface was clay. Koubek reached the quarterfinals of the 2002 Australian Open and the 2002 Hamburg Masters, attaining a career-high singles ranking of World No. 20 in March 2000. Galo Blanco (; born 8 October 1976) is a retired professional tennis player from Oviedo, Spain. After many years as a professional tennis coach Blanco joined the Davis Cup steering committee in 2018. Tennis career Most of Blanco's early professional tour appearances were earned by qualifying for tournaments. He would do so by winning the qualifier's rounds that are usually played before the tournaments themselves, to fill one last tournament spot. Gilbert Schaller (born 17 March 1969), is a former professional tennis player from Austria. Schaller achieved a career-high singles ranking of World No. 17 in 1995. Gabriel Markus (born 31 March 1970) is a former professional tennis player from Argentina. Career A clay court specialist, Markus was a quarter-finalist in the Boys' Singles event at the 1987 French Open and at his best was ranked second in the Argentine junior rankings. The right-handed player made the fourth round of the US Open in 1991, the furthest he would reach in a Grand Slam. Along the way he defeated Diego Nargiso, Stefano Pescosolido and Jan Siemerink.
