It was put together by three men, Alex James, Brian " Moppa " McBroom and John Berti. It all started when a group of young men had been playing in the YCW competition, at under 18 level, and having won the Premiership, wanted to stay together after they turned 18. They then decided to play for a club named, Middle Park YCW, which in fact was the first year of our Club, it was called Middle Park Colts. The Southern Football Netball League is an Australian rules football league, based in the south and south eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, for both seniors and juniors. History The ''South East Suburban Football League'' was formed in 1963 as a merger of the Caulfield Oakleigh District Football League with the East Suburban Football League after a number of its clubs moved to the Croydon Ferntree Gully FL (now Eastern Football League (Australia), Eastern Football League). When the Federal Football League folded at the end of 1981, the SESFL had twenty clubs. After the addition of all but one of the Federal clubs for 1982, the league had a 16 team A grade, and a 12 team B grade competition. The league twice tried 3 divisions but the idea was later dropped as clubs left or folded. Western Region Football League
The Western Region Football League is an Australian rules football semi-professional league, based in the western suburbs of Melbourne, for both seniors and juniors. History The league was formed in 1931 as the "Footscray District Football League". During the 1950s, the VFL club Footscray was financially backing the competition, so they decided to bar clubs that were inside the zone. This resulted in six clubs leaving. More changes occurred in 1952 as the league decided that clubs had to provide an under-18 competition; this action reduced the club numbers down to twelve. The next initiative was the introduction of an under-16 competition in 1954. In 1988, the league absorbed clubs from the West Suburban Football League; and, in 2000, to reflect the fact that the league had expanded across the western suburbs, it changed its name to the Western Region Football League. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). During general play, players may position themselves anywhere on the field and use any part of their bodies to move the ball. The primary methods are kicking, handballing and running with the ball. There are rules on how the ball can be handled; for example, players running with the ball must intermittently bounce or touch it on the ground. Graeme Yeats
Graeme Yeats (born 21 September 1964) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Melbourne Football Club, Melbourne in the Australian Football League, VFL/AFL. A skilful and consistent defender/wingman, Yeats played 182 games with Melbourne, including 13 finals and the 1988 VFL Grand Final. He later played VFA/VFL football for Springvale Football Club, Springvale. In the 1996 VFL Grand Final, his mark on the goal-line and subsequent goal from a tight angle with 47 seconds remaining was the winning goal in Springvale's 3-point premiership win against Frankston Football Club, Frankston. Yeats later won a VFL premiership as coach with Sandringham Football Club, Sandringham. He then coached the Dandenong Stingrays in the TAC Cup Under 18's Competition. He stepped down from the role at the end of the 2013 season.
