Port-Daniel Station
The Port-Daniel station is an inactive railway station built in 1908 by Quebec Atlantic Oriental Railway. The railway line and service was acquired by CN Rail. CN retained the tracks until 1998, but VIA Rail took over passenger service from 1977 to 2013. Quebec Route 132
Route 132 is the longest highway in Quebec. It follows the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River from the border with the state of New York in the hamlet of Dundee (connecting with New York State Route 37 (NY 37) via NY 970T, an unsigned reference route, north of Massena), west of Montreal to the Gulf of Saint Lawrence and circles the Gaspé Peninsula. This highway is known as the Navigator's Route. It passes through the Montérégie, Centre-du-Québec, Chaudière-Appalaches, Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gaspésie regions of the province. Unlike the more direct Autoroute 20, which it shadows from Longueuil to Sainte-Luce, Route 132 takes a more scenic route which goes through many historic small towns. Quebec Atlantic Oriental Railway
The Quebec Oriental Railway was the name for a railway running along the southern shore of the Gaspe peninsula, Quebec, Canada, opened in 1907 from Matapédia to (eventually) Gaspe Town. The railway was taken over by Canadian National, which then split off its passenger services to VIA Rail, which shuttered the Montreal-Gaspe train line in 2013. History The line of the Quebec Oriental began as an endeavour of the Atlantic and Lake Superior Railway, envisioned as a line from Gaspé to the Great Lakes. The project didn't get far, and only constructed a line from Matapédia to Caplan in the 1890s. The Quebec Oriental was chartered to extend the line to New Carlisle, and the Atlantic, Quebec and Western Railway extended it further to Gaspé.
