Porbandar–Jetalsar Section
The Porbandar–Jetalsar section is a length of railroad track that connects Porbandar to Jetalsar. It belongs to the Western Railway of Bhavnagar Division in Gujarat, India. History Porbandar–Jamjodhpur was opened by the Porbandar Railway in 1888, while Jetalsar–Rajkot was opened in 1890 by Jetalsar-Rajkot Railway completing the full section with the support of other Princely state railways. Porbandar is a city in the States and territories of India, Indian state of Gujarat, perhaps best known for being the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi and Sudama. Bhavnagar
Bhavnagar is a city in the Bhavnagar district of the Saurashtra region of Gujarat, a States of India, state of India. It was founded in 1723 by Gohil Koli, Bhavsinhji Takhtasinhji Gohil (1703–1764). Porbandar Railway
Porbandar State Railway was a metre gauge in the Porbandar State in Gujarat during the 19th century. History The Porbandar State Railway was owned by the State of Porbandar, which was then ruled by Vikramatji Khimojiraj. Later railways were further developed by Bhavsinhji Madhavsinhji and Natwarsinhji Bhavsinhji under their rules. It worked initially with Bhavnagar–Gondal–Junagad–Porbandar Railway until 1911. It was opened to traffic in 1888. Later, from 1919, it worked with Gondal Railway. The Porbandar rail line was extended to Jamjodhpur in 1922, at which time the line was 42 miles long.
