Pooja Shah
Pooja Ashwin Shah (born 8 August 1979 in London, England) is a British actress, filmmaker and model of Kenyan-Indian descent. She is known for her role as Kareena Ferreira in the popular UK soap opera EastEnders. Shah works with her husband directing and writing short films and has won three film awards for them. Early life and career Pooja Shah's grandparents migrated to Kenya from Gujarat in Western India. Shah trained as an Indian classical dancer. She attended the University of Brighton, graduating in 2001 with a BA Hons Degree in Theatre with Visual Practice. Shah began her acting career in the theatre and went on to play the lead role of Mary Magdalene in a small budget film named ''Jesus the Curry King''. The film was produced by the Aylesbury Film Company and was one of the first digital films to be shown in cinemas in the UK. In 2002 Shah played Meena in the film ''Bend It Like Beckham''. Findmypast is a UK-based online genealogy service owned, since 2007, by British company DC Thomson. The website hosts billions of searchable records of census, directory and historical record information. It originated in 1965 when a group of genealogists formed a group named "Title Research". The first internet website went live in 2003. As of 2018, Findmypast has partnered with many other genealogical organisations and hosts much of their data. Ameet Chana (born 12 September 1975 in Epsom, Surrey, England) is a British-Indian actor. His most notable role is Adi Ferreira in ''EastEnders''. Kareena Ferreira
The Ferreira family are a fictional family from the BBC soap opera '' EastEnders'', that appeared on screen between 2003 and 2005. Created by Tony Jordan and introduced by Louise Berridge as a new Asian family, producers hoped they would become central to the show. However, after Indian actor Dalip Tahil was forced to leave due to a controversy over his work permit, a major plot involving the family had to be scrapped and was replaced with a kidney transplant storyline that was branded "boring". It was later revealed that the dropped storyline involved Dan being murdered by his children and buried in a shallow grave.
