Ponnumani
'' Ponnumani'' is a 1993 Indian Tamil-language drama film, directed by R. V. Udayakumar, starring Karthik, Soundarya (in her Tamil film debut) and Sivakumar. It was released on 16 April 1993. Plot Ponnumani and Chinthamani are sweethearts who spend their childhood together in a village. Chinthamani goes off to pursue an education, but she and Ponnumani remain devoted to each other. Kathirvel, who dotes on Ponnumani wants to see them happily married. It is decided that they would marry once Chinthamani's exams are over. Ponnumani, who has been waiting all his life for this moment sets off eagerly to receive Chinthamani at the station. He is shocked to find her in a mentally unbalanced state. Karthik (actor)
Murali Karthikeyan Muthuraman (born 13 September 1960), better known by his stage name Karthik, is an Indian actor, playback singer and politician who works mainly in Tamil cinema. He is the son of veteran actor R. Muthuraman. In the 1980s and 90s, Karthik was one of the biggest stars in the industry. He was first introduced by Bharathiraja in the Tamil film ''Alaigal Oivathillai'' (1981) and became a lead actor in Tamil films by his own. Gokula Krishnan
Gokula Krishnan was an Indian film director, who has directed Tamil films. He was primarily active in the 1980s and early 1990s and is most noted for his work on films featuring actor Karthik. He also extensively worked with Malayalam director Fazil and other Malayalam directors, when they made Tamil films, helping write dialogues. Subramaniyan Karuppaiya (born 25 May 1939), known by his stage name Goundamani, is an Indian actor and comedian who works in Tamil cinema. He is known for his comic duo partnership in Tamil films with fellow actor Senthil. The pair dominated the Tamil industry as comedians in the 1980s and 90s. He was called Goundamani after acting as a Gounder in one of his early day dramas and the pseudonym stuck with him forever.
