Pongsiri Por Ruamrudee ( th, พงษ์ศิริ พ.ร่วมฤดี), was a former Thai Muay Thai kickboxer, popular during the golden era of Muay Thai. Biography & career Por Ruamrudee was born as Paiboon Ladnongkee (ไพบูลย์ ลัดหนองขี) in Tambon Mueang Phlapphla, Amphoe Huai Thalaeng, Nakhon Ratchasima province, northeastern Thailand. He started fighter at the age of 12 with the support of his father, a fighting enthusiast. He fought at Rajadamnern Stadium for the first time, winning by knockout in the second round. Por Ruamrudee fought for the first time in the event "Suek Onesongchai" of famous promoter Songchai Rattanasuban by knocking out the second round Tepparith Sor Naya-arm, This fight made him well-known among Muay Thai fans. He was a small shape fighter, therefore he was a tough fighter who never backed down, pushing forward for the win with his aggressive fighting style. Amphoe Huai Thalaeng
Huai Thalaeng (, ) is a district (''amphoe'') in the eastern part of Nakhon Ratchasima province, northeastern Thailand. History Huai Thalaeng village was controlled by Tambon Ngio (ตำบลงิ้ว), Amphoe Phimai. It was upgraded to Tambon Huai Thalaeng in 1961 and became a minor district (''king amphoe'') later. It was upgraded to a full district in 1963. Lumpinee Stadium
Lumpinee Boxing Stadium ( th, สนามเวทีมวยลุมพินี) is a sporting arena in Bangkok, Thailand. The stadium is named after Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha. Opened more than a decade later than Rajadamnern Stadium, Lumpinee is run by the Royal Thai Army. It has become the symbol of modern Muay Thai. Only Rajadamnern Stadium rivals the prestige of holding the title of "Muay Thai Champion of Lumpinee". The ranking system and championship titles are held from mini flyweight (105 lb) up to super welterweight (154 lb). Muay Thai bouts are held on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The fights usually start around 18:00. The final event at its original site on Rama IV Road near Lumphini Park was held on 8 February 2014. Hippy Singmanee ( th, ฮิปปี้ สิงห์มณี) is a Thai former Muay Thai fighter. He was a three time Lumpinee Stadium champion in the lower weight classes during the Muay Thai golden era. Biography & career Hippy was born he starteted training in Muay Thai at the age of 10 with his brothers Thungsong and Kompayak, trained by their father. Hippy had his first fight a few months after starting training, his ring name was given to him by his father due to the fact that he had long hair during his childhood. Hippy became a young star in South Thailand winning multiple regional titles. His younger brother Kompayak Singmanee also became a notable stadium champion. Toto Pongsawang or spelt Toto Por.Pongsawang ( th, โตโต้ ป.พงษ์สว่าง) is a former Thai professional boxer and Muay Thai fighter of the 1990s. Biography & career Toto had a reputation for being a Muay Thai in Isan region in name "Toto Kangwalprai" (โตโต้ กังวาลไพร). Later, his manager Songphol "Ja Tu" Pongsawang led him to a regular at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, Bangkok under a promoter Songchai Rattanasuban. Pairojnoi Sor Siamchai ( th, ไพโรจน์น้อย ส.สยามชัย), is a former Thai Muay Thai fighter. He was a Lumpinee stadium champion. Biography & career Pairojnoi is an orphan who grew up in the Chachoengsao province, in a temple known for taking care of homeless children. He started Muay Thai training at the age of 9, he had his first fights in the nearby temples. In 1985 he was scouted by the Songchai promotion and began his ascension at Lumpinee stadium in the 105 lbs division where he became popular for his aggressive style. On August 30, 1988 Pairojnoi won the Lumpinee Stadium title left vacant by Hippy Singmanee against the former champion's brother Kompayak Singmanee. Orono Por Muang Ubon ( th, โอโรโน่ พ.เมืองอุบล; born January 14, 1973, in Ubon Ratchathani) is a Thai former Muay Thai fighter. Biography and career Orono started Muay Thai at 10 in the Kiatkamchai camp. At 15 he joined the Por Muang Ubon gym in his native Ubon Ratchathani Province to start his Bangkok career, training alongside other notable fighters such as Nungubon Sitlerchai and Nuengtrakarn Por Muang Ubon. His ring name was given to him by a trainer who thought he had a similar face as the boxing champion Rafael Orono who came to compete for a world title in Thailand in 1983 and 1985.
