Polšnik
Polšnik (; german: Billichberg''Leksikon občin kraljestev in dežel zastopanih v državnem zboru,'' vol. 6: ''Kranjsko''. 1906. Vienna: C. Kr. Dvorna in Državna Tiskarna, p. 94.) is a settlement in the Municipality of Litija in central Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola. It is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Central Sava Statistical Region. Together with the two parts of the main settlement ( Zgornji Polšnik and Spodnji Polšnik) it also includes the hamlets of Na Puši, Seruč, Koprivnik, Slop, Glinjek, Velika Njiva ( sl, Velika njiva), and Sušje. History Polšnik was created as a single settlement in 1953, when the previously separate villages of Spodnji Polšnik and Zgornji Polšnik were merged. The Municipality of Litija (; sl, Občina Litija) is a Municipalities of Slovenia, municipality in central Slovenia. The seat of the municipality is the town of Litija. The area is part of the traditional Upper Carniola, Upper and Lower Carniola regions. Franc Avsec
Franc Avsec (20 August 1863, Gotna Vas – 9 March 1943, Lesce) was a Slovenian Roman Catholic priest, restoration expert, editor, and journalist. Life Avsec attended secondary school in Novo Mesto. He studied theology in Ljubljana and was ordained in 1888. After his ordination he served as a curate in various locations, and then starting in 1899 as a parish priest in Velike Brusnice, from 1900 to 1919 in Podkum, and then until his death in Lesce. He developed an interest in church art as a student. In the locations where he served, he drew plans of the churches, and studied the history of the buildings and conservation issues. In 1904 he was named an honorary conservation expert for the Vienna Central Commission for the Preservation of Monuments (''K. K. Our Lady of Lourdes (french: Notre-Dame de Lourdes) is a title of the Virgin Mary. She is venerated under this title by the Roman Catholic church due to her apparitions that occurred in Lourdes, France.
