Millipede
Millipedes are a group of arthropods that are characterised by having two pairs of jointed legs on most body segments; they are known scientifically as the class Diplopoda, the name derived from this feature. Each double-legged segment is a result of two single segments fused together. Most millipedes have very elongated cylindrical or flattened bodies with more than 20 segments, while pill millipedes are shorter and can roll into a tight ball. Although the name "millipede" derives from the Latin for "thousand feet", no species was known to have 1,000 or more until the discovery of ''Eumillipes persephone'', which can have over 1,300 legs. There are approximately 12,000 named species classified into 16 orders and around 140 families, making Diplopoda the largest class of myriapods, an arthropod group which also includes centipedes and other multi-legged creatures. Most millipedes are slow-moving detritivores, eating decaying leaves and other dead plant matter. Some eat fungi or ...

Europe
Europe is a large peninsula conventionally considered a continent in its own right because of its great physical size and the weight of its history and traditions. Europe is also considered a Continent#Subcontinents, subcontinent of Eurasia and it is located entirely in the Northern Hemisphere and mostly in the Eastern Hemisphere. Comprising the westernmost peninsulas of Eurasia, it shares the continental landmass of Afro-Eurasia with both Africa and Asia. It is bordered by the Arctic Ocean to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the west, the Mediterranean Sea to the south and Asia to the east. Europe is commonly considered to be Boundaries between the continents of Earth#Asia and Europe, separated from Asia by the drainage divide, watershed of the Ural Mountains, the Ural (river), Ural River, the Caspian Sea, the Greater Caucasus, the Black Sea and the waterways of the Turkish Straits. Northern America
Northern America is the northernmost subregion of North America. The boundaries may be drawn slightly differently. In one definition, it lies directly north of Middle America (including the Caribbean and Central America).Gonzalez, Joseph. 2004"Northern America: Land of Opportunity"(ch. 6). ''The Complete Idiot's Guide to Geography.'' () New York: Alpha Books; pp. 57–8 Northern America's land frontier with the rest of North America then coincides with the Mexico–United States border. Geopolitically, according to the United Nations' scheme of geographical regions and subregions, Northern America consists of Bermuda, Canada, Greenland, Saint Pierre and Miquelon and the United States (the contiguous United States and Alaska only, excluding Hawaii, Navassa Island, Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands, and other minor U.S. Pacific territories). From a geographical perspective, Mexico would also be part of Northern America as it is on the same land as the United State ...

Polyzonium Germanicum
''Polyzonium germanicum'', also known as the Kentish pinhead or boring millipede is a species of millipede within the family Polyzoniidae. Description ''Polyzonium germanicum'' is a distinctive looking arthropod with a very small triangular shaped head. ''P. germanicum'' can range from 5mm to 18mm in length. Unlike most millipedes this species hatches with 4 pairs of legs, opposed to the usual 3 pairs that most other millipede species hatch with. ''P. germanicum'' possesses a brownish orange body. ''P. germanicum'' possess ozadenes, however they are not present in the first 5 body segments of the organism. These ozadenes will secrete an irritant monoterpene substance to discourage predators. Distribution ''Polyzonium germanicum'' has an extensive range throughout Europe, where it has been recorded in the countries of: Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Germany, Latvia Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, S ...
