The Politics of Anhui Province in the People's Republic of China is structured in a dual party-government system like all other governing institutions in mainland China. The Governor of Anhui (安徽省省长) is the highest-ranking official in the People's Government of Anhui. However, in the province's dual party-government governing system, the Governor has less power than the Anhui Chinese Communist Party Provincial Committee Secretary (安徽省委书记), colloquially termed the "Anhui Party Chief". Anhui
Anhui , (; formerly romanized as Anhwei) is a landlocked province of the People's Republic of China, part of the East China region. Its provincial capital and largest city is Hefei. The province is located across the basins of the Yangtze River and the Huai River, bordering Jiangsu to the east, Zhejiang to the southeast, Jiangxi to the south, Hubei to the southwest, Henan to the northwest, and Shandong for a short section in the north. With a population of 63.65 million, Anhui is the 8th most populous province in China. It is the 22nd largest Chinese province based on area, and the 12th most densely-populated region of all 34 Chinese provincial regions. Anhui's population is mostly composed of Han Chinese. Languages spoken within the province include Jianghuai Mandarin, Wu, Hui, Gan and small portion of Zhongyuan Mandarin Chinese. Zhang Baoshun
Zhang Baoshun (; born February 1950) is a retired politician of the People's Republic of China, and the former Communist Party Secretary of east China's Anhui province. Early life Zhang was born in Qinhuangdao, Hebei, on February 27, 1950. Career Zhang started working in November 1968, and joined the Chinese Communist Party in April 1971. He served in various posts in Qinhuangdao harbor administration bureau before entering Communist Youth League central committee in December 1978. From December 1982 to November 1985, Zhang was an alternate secretary of CYL central secretariat and director of CYL department of workers and peasants youth. He was elevated to a secretary of CYL central secretariat in November 1985, and the post was confirmed as the rank of vice minister in November 1991. Li Bin (politician)
Li Bin (; born October 1954) is a Chinese politician of Manchu descent from Fushun, in Liaoning province. She was the only Minister in charge of the National Health and Family Planning Commission existing from March 2013 to March 2018. She currently served as one of the vice-chairpersons of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference since March 2018. She graduated from Jilin University with a degree in economics, and went on to receive her doctorate and conduct research in the same field. Li is a member of the Chinese Communist Party. She was chairperson and party secretary of the National Population and Family Planning Commission (2008–2011). She became vice- and acting governor of Anhui province in 2011, and was Governor of the province from February 2012 to March 2013. Wang Sanyun
Wang Sanyun (; born December 1952) is a former Chinese politician. He began his political career in Guizhou province, before serving in Sichuan, Fujian, and Anhui provinces. He served as Anhui governor between 2007 and 2011, and was transferred to Gansu to serve as Communist Party Secretary between 2011 and 2017. Shortly after leaving office, he was put under investigation for violating party discipline by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection. Early career Wang was born in Guizhou. He traces his ancestry to Shan County in Shandong Province; his name means roughly "Three Transports". As a teenager, he had performed manual labour in Zhijin County, Guizhou, before becoming a middle school teacher there. Xu Zhonglin (politician)
Xu Zhonglin (; 1567 - c. 1619 or 1620) was a Chinese fantasy novelist who lived during the Ming dynasty. He is best known as the author of the 16th century semi-mythical novel ''Investiture of the Gods'' (). He was born in Yingtian Prefecture, present-day Nanjing. An original copy of ''Investiture of the Gods'' is held in the Japanese Library of the Grand Secretariat, printed by Shu Zaiyang. The second section of the book is inscribed with the words "edited by Xu Zhonglin, the Old Recluse of Mount Zhong." This is likely the source of his possible pseudonym "Zhongshan Yisou" (), which literally means "a carefree old man living in Mount Zhong". Fu Xishou (; January 1931 – 25 March 2015) was a Chinese business executive and politician who served as governor of Anhui from 1989 to 1994. He was an alternate member of the 13th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and a member of the 14th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party. He was a delegate to the 8th National People's Congress.
