The Polis Akademisi ve Koleji Spor Kulübü - Erkekler Buz Hokeyi Takımı ( en, Police Academy and College Sports Club - Men's Ice Hockey Team) was an ice hockey team of the Police Academy and College of Turkey. Polis Akademisi ve Koleji S.K. is a major sports club in Ankara. The men's professional ice hockey team participated in the Turkish Ice Hockey Super League, and the women's team in the Turkish Ice Hockey Women's League. The Turkish Ice Hockey Super League ( tr, Türkiye Buz Hokeyi Süper Ligi, abbreviated TBHSL) is the highest level of professional ice hockey in Turkey. It is operated under the jurisdiction of the Turkish Ice Hockey Federation, a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation. Ankara Ice Skating Palace ( tr, G.S.İ.M. Buz Pateni Sarayı, formerly ''Belpa Buz Pateni Sarayı'') is an indoor ice skating and ice hockey arena located in the Bahçelievler neighborhood of Ankara, Turkey. It was opened in 1989 and has a capacity of about 1,150 people. It was built by the Municipality of Ankara as the first Olympic size ice arena in Turkey. The Turkish Women's Ice Hockey League, also known as the Kadınlar Ligi in Turkish, is a women's amateur ice hockey league in Turkey. It is operated under the jurisdiction of the Turkish Ice Hockey Federation, a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation. Each team is allowed to carry two import players per season. The season typically starts in late November – early December and finishes in April. The Continental Cup is a second-level ice hockey tournament for European clubs (behind Champions Hockey League), begun in 1997 after the discontinuing of the European Cup. It was intended for teams from countries without representatives in the European Hockey League, with participating teams chosen by the countries' respective ice hockey associations.
