''Police Python 357'' (also known as ''The Case Against Ferro'') is a 1976 French crime-thriller film written and directed by Alain Corneau. It is an adaptation of the storyline of Kenneth Fearing's 1946 novel, ''The Big Clock'', though with obvious stylistic influences from earlier 70's police thrillers like ''Dirty Harry'' (the film's opening sequence directly copies that of ''Magnum Force''). Alain Corneau
Alain Corneau (7 August 1943 – 30 August 2010) was a French film director and writer. Corneau was born in Meung-sur-Loire, Loiret. Originally a musician, he worked with Costa-Gavras as an assistant, which was also his first opportunity to work with the actor Yves Montand, with whom he would collaborate three times later in his career, including ''Police Python 357'' (1976) and ''La Menace'' (1977). He directed Gérard Depardieu in the screen adaptation of '' Tous les matins du monde'' in 1991. Claude Bertrand (actor)
Claude Bertrand (24 March 1919 – 14 December 1986) was a French film, television and voiceover actor. In a career that has spanned four decades, Bertrand was best known in French film and television as a voice over actor. He was the French dub for Roger Moore, Charles Bronson, John Wayne, Bud Spencer and Burt Lancaster. He also shared his voice in animation, he provided the voice of Baloo in the French version of The Jungle Book, O'Malley in The Aristocats and Little John in Robin Hood. He also voiced Captain Haddock in Tintin and the Temple of the Sun and Tintin and the Lake of Sharks. He also dubbed Roger Moore into French in the James Bond series between 1973 and 1985. Bertrand died in 1986 after suffering from cancer.
