Poku Adu Gyamfi is a Ghanaian Politician and a member of the Third Parliament of the Fourth Republic Republic representing the Bosomtwe Constituency in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.Ghana Parliamentary Register Early life and education Adu was born Bosomtwe, a town in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. He attended the University of Hohenhem and also the Institute of Agricultural Sciences in Tropics (Hans-Ruthenberg-Institute). Politics Adu was first elected into Parliament on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party during the December 1996 Ghanaian General Elections. He polled 11,606 votes out of the 22,537 valid votes cast representing 34.60% against Joseph Oteng-Adjei and NDC member who polled 7,339 votes, Bernard Kwabena Asamoah a CPP member who polled 3,389 votes and Joseph Appiah a PNC member who polled 203 votes. Bosomtwe District
Bosomtwe District is one of the 43 districts in Ashanti Region, Ghana. Originally, it was part of the then-larger Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District on 10 March 1989, which was created from the former Ejisu-Juaben-Bosomtwe District Council, until the western part of the district was split off on 29 February 2008 to create Atwima-Kwanwoma District; the remaining part was renamed Bosomtwe District. The district assembly is located in the central part of Ashanti Region and has Kuntanase as its capital town. The Ashanti Region is located in southern part of Ghana and it is the third largest of 16 administrative regions, occupying a total land surface of or 10.2 percent of the total land area of Ghana. John Agyekum Kufour
John Kofi Agyekum Kufuor (born 8 December 1938) is a Ghanaian politician who served as the President of Ghana from 7 January 2001 to 7 January 2009. He was also Chairperson of the African Union from 2007 to 2008. Kufuor's career has been spent on the liberal-democratic side of Ghanaian politics, in the parties descended from the United Gold Coast Convention and the United Party. A lawyer and businessman, he was a minister in Kofi Abrefa Busia's Progress Party government during Ghana's Second Republic, and a Popular Front Party opposition frontbencher during the Third Republic. In the Fourth Republic Kufuor stood as the New Patriotic Party's candidate at the 1996 election, and then led it to victory in 2000 and 2004.
