Podolsk Constituency
The Podolsk constituency (No.124) is a Constituencies of Russia, Russian legislative constituency in Moscow Oblast. The constituency covers southern suburbs of Moscow. Until 2007 the constituency stretched from Podolsk westwards to Troitsk, Moscow, Troitsk and Naro-Fominsk, however, Moscow expanded into Moscow Oblast in 2012, taking a large area as New Moscow, Moscow, New Moscow (which now is a part of New Moscow constituency). To counter the territory loss Podolsk constituency was stretched to Domodedovo (town), Domodedovo (formerly part of Serpukhov constituency) and Vidnoye, Moscow Oblast, Vidnoye (Odintsovo constituency). Vyacheslav Fetisov
Viacheslav Alexandrovich "Slava" Fetisov (Russian: Вячеслав Александрович Фетисов, ''Vjačeslav Aleksandrovič Fetisov''; born 20 April 1958) is a Russian former professional ice hockey defenceman. He played for HC CSKA Moscow for 13 seasons before joining the National Hockey League (NHL), where he played with the New Jersey Devils and Detroit Red Wings. With the Wings, he won back-to-back Stanley Cups and was part of the team's Russian Five unit. After retiring from his playing career, he became the assistant coach for the New Jersey Devils. Having a very successful four years, he helped get the team to two Stanley Cup finals and one Stanley Cup victory. In addition to that, he won two Olympic gold medals and seven world championships. 2011 Russian Legislative Election
Legislative elections were held in Russia on 4 December 2011. At stake were the 450 seats in the 6th State Duma, the lower house of the Federal Assembly (the legislature). United Russia won the elections with 49.32% of the vote, taking 238 seats or 52.88% of the Duma seats. This result was down from 64.30% of the vote and 70% of the seats in the 2007 elections. The Communist Party of the Russian Federation received 19.19% of the vote and 92 seats, while A Just Russia received 13.24% and 64 seats, with the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia getting 56 seats with 11.67% of the vote. Yabloko, Patriots of Russia and Right Cause did not cross the 7% election threshold. The list of parties represented in the parliament did not change. Proportional Representation
Proportional representation (PR) refers to a type of electoral system under which subgroups of an electorate are reflected proportionately in the elected body. The concept applies mainly to geographical (e.g. states, regions) and political divisions (political parties) of the electorate. 2007 Russian Legislative Election
Legislative elections were held in Russia on 2 December 2007. At stake were the 450 seats in the 5th State Duma, the lower house of the Federal Assembly (the legislature). Eleven parties were included in the ballot, including Russia's largest party, United Russia, which was supported by President of Russia Vladimir Putin. Official results showed that United Russia won 64.3% of the votes, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation 11.6%, the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia 8.1%, and Fair Russia won 7.7%, and none of the other parties won enough votes to gain any seats. Although 400 foreign election monitors were present at the polling stations, the elections received mixed criticism internationally, largely from Western countries, and by some independent media and some opposition parties domestically. Rodina (political Party)
The All-Russian Political Party "Rodina" (russian: Всероссийская политическая партия «Родина», Vserossiyskaya politicheskaya partiya "Rodina") is a nationalist political party in Russia. It was a coalition of thirty nationalist groups that was established by Dmitry Rogozin,Bryant, Jordan"Rodina" School of Russian and Asian Studies. Sergey Yurievich Glazyev (russian: Серге́й Юрьевич Глазьев) (born January 1, 1961, in Zaporozhye, Ukrainian SSR, USSR) is a Russian politician and economist, member of the National Financial Council of the Bank of Russia, and, since 2008, a full member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
