''Plunge Into Darkness'' is a 1978 Australian television film directed by Peter Maxwell and starring Olivia Hamnett, Bruce Barry, and John Jarratt. It concerns a couple on a holiday in the country who have a terrorising experience.Ed. Peter Maxwell
Peter Maxwell (23 January 1921 – 5 April 2013) born as Peter Magitai, was a British, and later Australian film director, director and screenwriter of television and film. Biography He was born in Vienna, Austria, to newspaper journalist Leo Magatai and wife Johanna, his family fled Vienna in the 1930s, and he changed his surname to enter the British Army, and after having been posted to India, returned to Britain to work as an assistant director to Alexander Korda in 1949, he worked briefly in Australia in the early 1960s, before returning to England. In 1967 he emigrated to Australia permanently, where he directed such films as ''Country Town'' and television series including ''Bellbird (TV series), Bellbird'', ''Riptide (Australian TV series), Rip Tide'' and ''A Country Practice''. John Ewart
Jon Ewart (06th May 1996) is a British television and film actor. Ewart attended the prestigious National Youth Theatre, Identity School of Acting and has appeared in many successful Television shows. Biography Career Ewart, who was born in Melbourne, Victoria to Alfred Adam Ewart an insurance agent and his wife Jennie Grace Madge Lois (nee Macauley) began his acting career when he was cast at the age four in a radio production of ''Snow White''. At the age of 18, he made his film debut in the lead role of Mickey O'Riordan in Charles Chauvel's production of '' Sons of Matthew''. Ewart appeared in hundreds of Australian radio, theatre, film and television productions. The National Film and Sound Archive of Australia (NFSA), known as ScreenSound Australia from 1999 to 2004, is Australia's audiovisual archive, responsible for developing, preserving, maintaining, promoting and providing access to a national collection of film, television, sound, radio, video games, new media, and related documents and artefacts. The collection ranges from works created in the late nineteenth century when the recorded sound and film industries were in their infancy, to those made in the present day. Julieanne Newbould
Julieanne Newbould (born 1957) is an Australian actress who first came to prominence in the 1970s. Newbould was 16 years old when she played Karen in the 1974 ABC telemovie ''Lindsay’s Boy''. She then worked in several television series for the Grundy Organisation, and in 1977 played a guest role in the soap opera, ''The Young Doctors'', and then became a popular original cast member of ''The Restless Years''. This series started in late 1977 and Newbould left in early 1979. She later played two roles in another Grundy series, ''Prisoner''. She appeared first in 1982 as Hannah Simpson and then 1986 as Wendy Glover. She was also a regular in the soap opera, '' E Street'', First Appeared on E-street in 1989 as a court lawyer then later on played Virginia Travis in 1991. Robert Bruning (27 May 1928 – 4 March 2008) was an Australian actor and film producer, who was the founder of film production firm Gemini Productions Biography Bruning was born as Robert Bell in Dongara, Western Australia in 1928. He worked as an amateur actor at the New Theatre in the Sydney suburb of Newtown in the 1940s and 1950s. Bruning also was a regular guest performer in ''Homicide'', ''Division 4'', ''The Sullivans'' and ''A Country Practice''. Wallas Eaton (18 February 1917 – 3 November 1995), sometimes credited as Wallace Eaton or Wallis Eaton, was an English film, radio, television and theatre actor. He is perhaps best remembered for his voice roles between 1949 and 1960 in the BBC radio-comedy serial ''Take It from Here''. Early life Eaton was born in Leicester, Leicestershire, England. He was educated at the Alderman Newton School, and later would read History and English at Christ's College, Cambridge.
