Plisskën Festival is an annual music festival in Athens, Greece that started in December 2010. During its previous editions, the festival has been held at ''Building 56'' of the cultural centre ''Hellenic Cosmos''. Despite the ongoing fluctuations of Greece's social-economic environment, the festival has managed to successfully sustain itself, while increasing exponentially its line-up on a year by year basis. Gradually securing its place as a permanent fixture on the European festival scene, the festival attracts an ever-growing amount of international visitors. Spanning a total line-up of more that 350 international artists and numerous local acts over its seven editions, the festival is noted for its genre-defying philosophy by embracing music from a diversified background, as well as its concentration on showcasing some of the latest talent to emerge from the international music scene. Pascal Arbez-Nicolas (; born 18 May 1976), better known by his stage name Vitalic (), is a French electronic music producer. History His first singles were released in 1996 and 1997, but were confined to underground electronic music scene. However, he became good friends with techno producer The Hacker, whom he met in Le Rex Club, the "techno temple" of Laurent Garnier. The Hacker suggested that he should send his new tracks to DJ Hell, head of International DeeJay Gigolo Records in Munich. Pascal did so, and International DeeJay Gigolo Records released the well known ''Poney EP'' in 2001, which was a huge success shortly after its release. Girls Names was a band from Belfast, Northern Ireland, formed in 2009 by Cathal Cully and Neil Brogan. Before they disbanded in 2019, the released four albums—'' Dead To Me'', '' The New Life'', ''Arms Around a Vision'', and ''Stains on Silence''—as well as several EPs, singles, and split singles. Egyptian hip hop is a form of hip hop music in Egypt that draws inspiration from both regional and global events. History Hip-Hop music reached Egypt when Andrew A. El-Sayid (OsamaBinRappin), a rapper from West Covina, California took Dr. Dre's "Nuthin' but a 'G' Thang" ft. Snoop Dogg cassette single, and DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince's "Boom! Shake the Room" red cassette single to Egypt on July 25th 1993. During his visit to Egypt he would play the music for his cousins, and would take the two cassettes on tour throughout his 1 month vacation, to cities such as Alexandria (Agami Beach) and would eventually leave it accidentally with the DJ at 'Disco 54' a club downstairs at the hotel he stayed at in Marsa Matruh. Dope Body
Dope Body is an American rock band from Baltimore, Maryland, United States. They formed in 2008 by vocalist Andrew Laumann, guitarist/bassist Zachary Utz, and drummer David Jacober. They released four albums in addition to a cassette tape and two split records. They expanded to a quartet, adding bassist Jesse Lyell in 2011, who was replaced by John Jones, late of local contemporaries Roomrunner, the next year. Bobby Krlic (born 20 December 1985), known by his stage name The Haxan Cloak, is a British composer, artist, music producer and musician. The Haxan Cloak has released two full-length albums (2011's ''The Haxan Cloak'' and 2013's '' Excavation''). Archy Ivan Marshall (born 24 August 1994), also known by his stage name King Krule, among other names, is an English singer, songwriter, musician, rapper and record producer. Ebo Taylor (born 1936) is a Ghanaian guitarist, composer, bandleader, record producer and arranger focusing on highlife and afrobeat music. Career Ebo Taylor has been a pivotal figure on the Ghanaian music scene for over six decades.
