Pleasure Syndrome
''Pleasure Syndrome'' is the second studio album by the Australian alternative rock/ post-punk band Witch Hats, released through Longtime Listener/BMG on 14 October 2011. The album was produced by US-born producer/engineer Casey Rice (Dirty Three Dirty Three is an Australian instrumental rock band, consisting of Warren Ellis (violin and bass guitar), Mick Turner (electric and bass guitars) and Jim White (drums), which formed in 1992. Their 1996 album ''Horse Stories'' was voted by ''Ro ..., Tortoise). Guitarist Tom Barry left the group shortly after the recording sessions of ''Pleasure Syndrome'' and was quickly replaced by Robert Wrigley. A video clip for "Hear Martin" was releasedview here in August 2011, which was followed by a second clip for "In the Mortuary" in January 2012. Witch Hats
Witch Hats are a rock music, rock band based in Melbourne, Australia. History Formation & ''Wound of a Little Horse'' (2005 - 2007) The band was formed in late 2005 by guitarist and vocalist Kris Buscombe with drummer Duncan Blachford, who moved to Melbourne from Tasmania to start a band. Shortly after a self-titled demo CD was released, Buscombe recruited his younger brother Ash to play bass. By the time the group was prepared to release their first EP, ''Wound of a Little Horse'' produced by Phill Calvert (The Birthday Party (band), The Birthday Party) on In-Fidelity Recordings in 2006, Tom Barry had also joined the line-up. Post-punk revival (also known as garage rock revival,J. Stuessy and S. D. Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG) was a division of a German media company Bertelsmann before its completion of sale of the majority of its assets to Sony Corporation of America on 1 October 2008. Solarium Down The Causeway
''Solarium Down the Causeway'' is the second EP by the Australian alternative rock and post-punk band Witch Hats, released on Z-Man Records in September 2009. The EP was mixed by their long-time producer, Phill Calvert of The Birthday Party. Most of the album was recorded in Oakland, California while the band was on their US tour promoting '' Cellulite Soul''. The EP was recorded by Greg Ashley of The Gris Gris. The album title is a loose reference to seeing people sun-bathing in the aqueducts of Los Angeles. They filmed the video clip for their song, "Check the Center" in an Arizonian desert. In a 2013 interview with the online publication ''Shanghai 247'', font-man and primary songwriter Kris Buscombe recalled firing a 9mm pistol through the roof of the studio during the recording sessions of the EP. Andrew McMillen is an Australian music journalist and national music writer for ''The Australian''. Post-punk
Post-punk (originally called new musick) is a broad genre of punk music that emerged in the late 1970s as musicians departed from punk's traditional elements and raw simplicity, instead adopting a variety of avant-garde sensibilities and non-rock influences. Dirty Three is an Australian instrumental rock band, consisting of Warren Ellis (violin and bass guitar), Mick Turner (electric and bass guitars) and Jim White (drums), which formed in 1992. Tortoise (band)
Tortoise is an American post-rock band formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1990. The band incorporates krautrock, dub, minimal music, electronica and jazz into their music, a combination sometimes termed "post-rock". Tortoise have been consistently credited for the rise of the post-rock movement in the 1990s.
