Witch Hats
Witch Hats are a rock music, rock band based in Melbourne, Australia. History Formation & ''Wound of a Little Horse'' (2005 - 2007) The band was formed in late 2005 by guitarist and vocalist Kris Buscombe with drummer Duncan Blachford, who moved to Melbourne from Tasmania to start a band. Shortly after a self-titled demo CD was released, Buscombe recruited his younger brother Ash to play bass. By the time the group was prepared to release their first EP, ''Wound of a Little Horse'' produced by Phill Calvert (The Birthday Party (band), The Birthday Party) on In-Fidelity Recordings in 2006, Tom Barry had also joined the line-up. A 7-inch single, "Before I Weigh" was released in November 2007 as a teaser for their upcoming debut, ''Cellulite Soul''. Crocodiles (band)
Crocodiles are a noise pop/indie pop band from San Diego, California, US. The group was formed in 2008 by core members Brandon Welchez and Charles Rowell after the break-up of their former punk bands Some Girls and The Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower. Crocodiles' sound has typically been likened to The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Archies, and Tommy James & The Shondells. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". The Meredith Music Festival (otherwise known simply as Meredith or MMF) is a three-day outdoor music festival held every December at the "Supernatural Amphitheatre", a natural amphitheatre located on private farmland near the town of Meredith in Victoria, Australia. A self-funded, non-commercial event that was first held in 1991, the festival spawned Golden Plains, a music festival that takes place over the Labour Day long weekend in March. American Laundromat Records is an independent record label founded in 2004 by Joe Spadaro. ALR specializes in almost annual indie rock compilation albums, which have included tracks by OK Go, The Dresden Dolls, and The Watson Twins. Compilation tributes have been dedicated to the Pixies, The Cure, Kim Deal, Neil Young, The Smiths, and the 1984 film '' Repo Man''. The Breeders
The Breeders are an American alternative rock band based in Dayton, Ohio, consisting of members Kim Deal (rhythm guitar, lead vocals), her twin sister Kelley Deal (lead guitar, vocals), Josephine Wiggs (bass guitar, vocals) and Jim Macpherson (drums). The earliest incarnation of the band was formed by Kim Deal and Tanya Donelly in 1989 as a side-project alongside their full-time bands Pixies and Throwing Muses respectively. Solarium Down The Causeway
''Solarium Down the Causeway'' is the second EP by the Australian alternative rock and post-punk band Witch Hats, released on Z-Man Records in September 2009. The EP was mixed by their long-time producer, Phill Calvert of The Birthday Party. Most of the album was recorded in Oakland, California while the band was on their US tour promoting '' Cellulite Soul''. The EP was recorded by Greg Ashley of The Gris Gris. The album title is a loose reference to seeing people sun-bathing in the aqueducts of Los Angeles. They filmed the video clip for their song, "Check the Center" in an Arizonian desert. In a 2013 interview with the online publication ''Shanghai 247'', font-man and primary songwriter Kris Buscombe recalled firing a 9mm pistol through the roof of the studio during the recording sessions of the EP.
