Plaza Low Yat is a shopping centre specializing in electronics and IT products in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In 2009, Plaza Low Yat was named “Malaysia’s Largest IT Lifestyle Centre” by the Malaysian Book of Records. Plaza Low Yat falls under the Low Yat Group, alongside other properties in the city centre such as Federal Hotel, Capitol Hotel, Federal Arcade and BBpark. Plaza Low Yat is widely regarded as the most comprehensive IT centre in Kuala Lumpur, offering various IT products and services from mobile, photography, and gaming, to computing and repairs. Malaysian Book Of Records
The Malaysia Book of Records (or MBR) is a Malaysian project to publish records set or broken by Malaysians. The project complements Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Bin Mohamad's ' Malaysia Boleh!' (''Malaysia Can!'' in English) campaign. As with the Guinness World Records, there is an annually published book listing the records. Aims The MBR is a project formed in line with the peoples Vision 2020. Realising that feats and record attempts were not recorded, Datuk Danny Ooi, (founder of The Malaysia Book of Records) felt that recognition should be given to record achievements by Malaysians. 2015 Plaza Low Yat Riot
On 12 July 2015, a riot occurred at Plaza Low Yat, Jalan Imbi, Kuala Lumpur. Three people were injured including a journalist during the commotion. This riot had been widely covered in the Malaysian mass media. Police believed that the riots occurred following a fight involving seven men at Plaza Low Yat, over alleged theft and a misunderstanding of smartphones, with losses estimated at over RM70,000. A total of 18 people were reportedly arrested for being involved in the riot. Aftermath Following the riot, the Prime Minister at the time, Najib Razak insisted that the incident should be seen as a criminal act and not a racial problem. Najib described the actions of some parties who used social media to incite the racial element in the incident as irresponsible and gave an inaccurate perspective on what actually happened. Imbi Monorail Station
Imbi Monorail station is a Malaysian elevated train station on the monorail line that serves as a part of the Kuala Lumpur Monorail (KL Monorail), located in Kuala Lumpur and opened alongside the rest of the train service on August 31, 2003. The station's similar location and proximity to a shopping district as the Bukit Bintang station means that the Imbi station is also one of the most heavily used stations along the KL Monorail line. The KL Monorail Line is one of the operational monorail systems in Malaysia. Operated as part of the RapidKL system by Rapid Rail, a subsidiary of Prasarana Malaysia, it is one of the components of the Klang Valley Integrated Transit System.
