Play Rapport
Play Rapport is a Swedish web based video news service created by Sveriges Television (SVT). The name comes from SVT Play, which is the general brand for video-on-demand services from SVT, and ''Rapport'', which is SVT's main news programme. SVT announced the launch of the service and that longtime news anchor Claes Elfsberg would be its primary presenter in January 2008. The service had its official launch May 5, 2008 in Kungsträdgården after a few weeks of public beta testing. The service was reported to have had 40,000 visitors during its first day. SVT originally thought that they would be the first to launch such a service in Sweden, but the TV4 Group managed to develop and launch a news channel a few weeks before SVT. The service consists of various video clips and is initially updated between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. on weekdays, and between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on weekends. Swedish Language
Swedish ( ) is a North Germanic language spoken predominantly in Sweden and in parts of Finland. It has at least 10 million native speakers, the fourth most spoken Germanic language and the first among any other of its type in the Nordic countries overall. Sveriges Television AB ("Sweden's Television Stock Company"), shortened to SVT (), is the Sweden, Swedish national public broadcasting, public television broadcaster, funded by a public service tax on personal income set by the Riksdag (national parliament). SVT Play
SVT Play is the brand used for the video on demand service offered by Sveriges Television, more specifically to the streaming services offered on the SVT website, svt.se, and its counterpart for mobile phones. The brand was introduced in December 2006, when the existing streaming television service got a new name. In September 2007, SVT launched their own channel on YouTube. From late 2007 until end of 2008 SVT Play was also available as a channel on Joost. SVT claims that the service offers more than 2,000 hours of television. Most programmes produced for or by SVT are published on SVT Play after they have been broadcast and are then available for 30 days. SVT have also launched "channels" dedicated at different audiences under the "Play" name. The first such channel was Play Bolibompa which launched in late 2007. ''Rapport'' ("Report") is one of the two main news programmes from the Swedish television broadcaster Sveriges Television (SVT). ''Rapports main bulletin is broadcast every day at 19:30 on SVT1. It runs for thirty minutes every day except Saturday, when it runs for fifteen minutes. Ever since the 1970s, it has been the most watched news bulletin in Sweden. A shorter version of the show is aired weekdays at 18:00 as part of a thirty-minute bloc on SVT1 that includes ''Kulturnyheterna'' (culture and entertainment news) and Sportnytt (sport news). On weekends the 18:00 edition runs on SVT1 for fifteen minutes. Since 2005, the show has usually been presented by Katarina Sandström, Lisbeth Åkerman and Morgan Olofsson. Claes Elfsberg
Claes-Gösta Elfsberg (born 26 November 1948) is a Swedish television journalist. Elfsberg grew up in the district of Svedmyra in southern Stockholm. He received his upper-secondary education at Norra Real in Stockholm and then studied at the Department of Journalism, Media and Communication (JMK) at Stockholm University, from where he dropped out to work as a trainee at the daily news program '' Rapport'' at Sveriges Television (SVT) in 1971. He presented the programme for the first time in 1975 and then worked as a news presenter for over thirty years, eventually earning the nickname "Mr. Rapport". He temporarily left ''Rapport'' in 2003 to host the interview program ''24 minuter'' on the SVT channel SVT24. He has also presented the SVT program '' Dokument utifrån''. Kungsträdgården (Swedish language, Swedish for "King's Garden") is a park in central Stockholm, Sweden. It is colloquially known as ''Kungsan''. TV4 AB (formerly Nordisk Television AB; previously traded as ) is a Swedish media company owned by Telia Company through TV4 Media (formerly known as Bonnier Broadcasting). The company owns the largest commercial television channel in Sweden, TV4. From 2007 until 2019, TV4 AB was owned by Bonnier, with Bonnier Broadcasting AB being its parent since 2016. Flash Video is a container file format used to deliver digital video content (e.g., TV shows, movies, etc.) over the Internet using Adobe Flash Player version 6 and newer. Flash Video content may also be embedded within SWF files. There are two different Flash Video file formats: FLV and F4V.
