''Platinum Game'' is the second studio album by American rapper CJ Mac. It was released on August 31, 1999 through Hoo-Bangin'/Priority Records. Production was handled by Young Trey, Mad, DJ Crazy Toones, Ant Banks, DJ Battlecat and Johnny "J", with Mack 10 serving as executive producer. It features guesr appearances from WC, Big Pimpin' Delemond, Fat Joe, Finale, Soultre, Too Short, TQ, La' Reece and Barbara Wilson. The album peaked at number 77 on the ''Billboard'' Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and at number 42 on the ''Billboard'' Heatseekers Albums. Along with a single, a music video was released for the song "Imagine That" and has a cameo appearance by MC Eiht. The songs "King Of L.A." & "Hate" were later used in Richard Cummings Jr.'s 1999 film '' Thicker than Water'', and were also included in its soundtrack. Bryaan Ross, also known as CJ Mac (Born in March 26, 1964) is an American rapper and actor. Music career He released his debut EP, ''Color Me Funky'', independently in 1991, under the name "CJ Mack." The album is out of print, and extremely rare. He returned in 1995 and released his second album, '' True Game'' on Rap-A-Lot Records, in 1995 with producer Mad. He was originally going to release the album through Ruthless Records. He appeared in the movie '' Thicker than Water'' with Mack 10 and Fat Joe, where he played a drug lord called Gator. Joseph Antonio Cartagena (born August 19, 1970), better known by his stage name Fat Joe, is an American rapper from New York City. He began his music career as a member of hip hop group Diggin' in the Crates Crew (D.I.T.C.), then forged a solo career and set up his own label, Terror Squad, to which he signed Big Pun, Remy Ma, Tony Sunshine, Cuban Link, Armageddon, Prospect, Triple Seis, and a then-unknown DJ Khaled, as well as discover producers Cool & Dre. Todd Anthony Shaw (born April 28, 1966), better known by the stage name Too Short (stylized as Too $hort), is an American rapper and record producer. Kevin Gilliam (born April 20, 1968), better known by his stage name Battlecat, is an American hip hop record producer and DJ from South Los Angeles, California. Biography He started out as a battle DJ, notably competing in the 1988 New Music Seminar DJ Battle for World Supremacy and the 1990 DMC US Mixing Finals, both in NYC. Thicker Than Water (1999 Film)
''Thicker than Water'' is a 1999 film directed by Richard Cummings Jr. and starring a host of rappers and urban entertainers such as Fat Joe, Mack 10, Ice Cube, MC Eiht, Big Pun, and others. The film contains rappers from both the East and the West Coast, as it was made after the end of the East Coast-West Coast feud. Plot In Los Angeles, two rival gang leaders are also trying to be music producers. When DJ's (Mack 10) equipment shorts out and Lonzo (Fat Joe) is cut out of the action by a record producer, the two join forces, which also requires a tentative peace between gangs.
