Plan International Egypt
Plan International Egypt, also known locally as Plan Egypt, is a child right's non-governmental organization. It is part of the larger Plan International" children's rights INGO headquartered in the UK. It has no political or religious affiliations. Funding in Plan Egypt comes from a mixture of Sponsorship and grants (approximately 70% and 30% respectively). The Egypt country office is located in El-Manial al-Roda, Cairo, Egypt Plan Egypt has been working in Egypt since 1981. In Egypt, it works directly with about 40,000 children. However, because Plan Egypt has adopted a holistic approach to child-centered community developmen(CCCD), it also believes in development/aid through women's empowerment, youth empowerment, education, awareness of rights, inclusion of all, in order to create an enabling environment for children. Plan International
Plan International is a development and humanitarian organisation which works in over 75 countries across Africa, the Americas, and Asia to advance children’s rights and equality for girls. Its focus is on child protection, education, child participation, economic security, emergencies, health, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and water and sanitation. As of 2021, Plan International reached 26.2 million girls and 24.1 million boys through its programming. Plan International provides training in disaster preparedness, response and recovery, and has worked on relief efforts in countries including Haiti, Colombia and Japan. El-Manial
El Manial ( , "'' the nilometer''") is a district of Cairo, located on Rhoda Island in the Nile. Prince Mohamed Ali Palace The El Manial Palace and garden estate was built for Prince Mohammed Ali Tewfik between 1899 and 1929. The Prince is the first cousin of King Faruq and the younger brother of Khedive Abbas II Hilmi. The palace was given to the Egyptian nation in 1955. El Manial Palace Museum The complex consists of six structures. Among these structures is a museum in which Faruq's hunting trophies are found, the prince's residence and furnishings and a museum in which some of the family's memorabilia are found. The palace also includes a collection of manuscripts, carpets, textiles, brass work and crystal. Items that can be seen here are a table made of elephant ears and a 1000-piece silver service. 6th Of October Governorate
The 6th of October Governorate was one of the governorates of Egypt. It was located in Middle Egypt, to the west of the Nile valley. It was dissolved on 14 April 2011 and was reincorporated into the Giza Governorate. History The 6th of October Governorate was split from the Giza Governorate on 17 April 2008. It was created through a presidential decree in order to ease the burden placed on Giza, one of Egypt's most densely populated governorates. The 6th of October City became the capital of the 6th of October Governorate, which was mostly made up of recently established planned communities such as the Sheikh Zayed City. On 14 April 2011, prime minister Essam Sharaf dissolved the 6th of October Governorate and reincorporated its territory into the Giza Governorate.
