Pisa
Pisa ( , or ) is a city and ''comune'' in Tuscany, central Italy, straddling the Arno just before it empties into the Ligurian Sea. It is the capital city of the Province of Pisa. Although Pisa is known worldwide for its leaning tower, the city contains more than twenty other historic churches, several medieval palaces, and bridges across the Arno. Much of the city's architecture was financed from its history as one of the Italian maritime republics. The city is also home to the University of Pisa, which has a history going back to the 12th century, the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa, founded by Napoleon in 1810, and its offshoot, the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies.Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna di Pisa

Administrative Subdivision Of Rome
The city of Rome, Italy is divided into first-level administrative subdivisions. There are 15 ''municipi'' (singular: ''municipio'') in the city; each ''municipio'' is governed by a president and a council who are elected directly by its residents every five years. The ''municipi'' collectively comprise the comune of Rome, which is itself one of the constituent parts of the wider metropolitan city of Rome Capital. History On 31 March 1966, for administrative purposes and to increase decentralization, the territory of the ''comune'' of Rome was divided into 12 administrative areas, called ''circoscrizioni'' (singular: ''circoscrizione''). On 11 February 1972 those areas were increased to 20. On 6 March 1992, after the referendum that ratified the separation of the then ''Circoscrizione XIV'' from Rome and the birth of the new independent ''comune'' of Fiumicino, the number of administrative areas of Rome decreased to 19. On 19 January 2001, ''circoscrizioni'' which were renamed ...

Pisana Cornaro
Pisana Cornaro (died 10 March 1769) was a Dogaressa of Venice by marriage to the Doge Alvise Giovanni Mocenigo (r. 1763–1779). Pisana Cornaro was the daughter of Federico Cornaro and married 5 October 1739. Upon his election as doge, the spouse demanded to reintroduce the ceremony of the Solemn Entry of the dogaressa, as well as the other ceremonies surrounding her, rituals which had been abolished during the 17th century. The 22 April 1763, dogaressa Pisana therefore celebrated her entry followed by all the traditional rituals, such as to receive the representatives from the city guilds, with the exception of the coronation. These ceremonies attracted much attention and were seen as a sign that the former grandness of Venice should return. Pisana was described as a simple and retiring person, more interested in her household than in her role as dogaressa, who abhorred pomp and became popular for her involvement in charity. In 1766, she presided at the marriage of her son to Fra ...

Cetonia Aurata Pisana
''Cetonia aurata'', called the rose chafer or the green rose chafer, is a beetle, long, that has a metallic structurally coloured green and a distinct V-shaped scutellum. The scutellum is the small V-shaped area between the wing cases; it may show several small, irregular, white lines and marks. The underside of the beetle has a coppery colour, and its upper side is sometimes bronze, copper, violet, blue/black, or grey. ''Cetonia aurata'' should not be confused with the North American rose chafer, ''Macrodactylus subspinosus'', or with the rarely seen noble chafer, ''Gnorimus nobilis'', which is very similar to the rose chafer. One way to identify ''Cetonia aurata'' is to look at its scutellum; on the noble chafer the scutellum is an equilateral triangle, but on the rose chafer it is an isosceles triangle. Overview Rose chafers are capable of fast flight; they fly with their wing cases down. They feed on pollen, nectar, and flowers, especially roses. They can be found among ...

Rocca Pisana
Rocca Pisana is a 16-century patrician villa in the comune of Lonigo, province of Vicenza, northern Italy, designed by the architect Vincenzo Scamozzi for the Pisani family. In Italy there are several villas called Villa Pisani, which take their name from this powerful Venetian family. This villa is also known as "La Rocca" or "La Rocca Pisana". Lonigo is also the home of Palladio's Villa Pisani (Bagnolo). Dominating a hill-top site, the exterior of Rocca Pisana shows the influence of Palladio's Villa Capra "La Rotonda", but has differences, for example, the recessed portico. The internal layout is different from Villa Rotonda. Rocca Pisana itself has been imitated, e.g. at Nuthall Temple, and possibly, for the octagonal dome at Chiswick House.
