Indie Rock
Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". One of the primary scenes of the movement was Dunedin, where Dunedin sound, a cultural scene based around a convergence of noise pop and jangle became popular among the city's University of Otago, large student population. Indie pop (also typeset as indie-pop or indiepop) is a music genre and subculture that combines guitar pop with DIY ethic in opposition to the style and tone of mainstream pop music. It originated from British post-punk in the late 1970s and subsequently generated a thriving fanzine, Independent record label, label, and club and gig circuit. Compared to its counterpart, indie rock, the genre is more melodic, less abrasive, and relatively angst-free. ''Pitchfork'' (formerly ''Pitchfork Media'') is an American online music publication (currently owned by Condé Nast) that was launched in 1995 by writer Ryan Schreiber as an independent music blog. ''Welcome Break'' is the second studio album by Dutch indie band Pip Blom. It was released on 12 November 2021 by Heavenly Recordings. Production The album was self-produced by the band at Big Jelly Studios in Ramsgate, England. Release On 15 June 2021, Pip Blom announced the release of their second studio, originally scheduled for release on 8 October 2021. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the album release was moved to 12 November 2021. Singles The first single "Keep It Together" was released on 15 June 2021, the same day as the album announcement. "It Should Have Been Fun", the second single from Pip Blom, was released on 15 July 2021. On 17 August 2021, the third single "You Don't Want This" was released.
