Elba
Elba ( it, isola d'Elba, ; la, Ilva) is a Mediterranean island in Tuscany, Italy, from the coastal town of Piombino on the Italian mainland, and the largest island of the Tuscan Archipelago. Follonica () is a town and ''comune'' (township) of province of Grosseto in the Italian region of Tuscany, on the Gulf of Follonica (''Golfo di Follonica''), about northwest of the city of Grosseto. History It was founded in 1834 by Grand Duke Leopold II of Tuscany for the workers of a new ironworks plant. Portoferraio () is a town and ''comune'' in the province of Livorno, on the edge of the eponymous harbour of the island of Elba. It is the island's largest city.
