Pinocchio (2012 Film)
''Pinocchio'' is a 2012 Italian animated film directed by Enzo D'Alò. It is based on the 1883 novel ''The Adventures of Pinocchio'' by Carlo Collodi. The film had a budget of about €8 million. It was screened out of competition at the 70th Venice International Film Festival. The original score was composed by Lucio Dalla, and includes songs performed by Leda Battisti and Nada. The vocal cast of the film includes Rocco Papaleo, Maurizio Micheli, Paolo Ruffini, Andy Luotto, and Lucio Dalla. An English dub was made in Canada the same year, and it was released in the United Kingdom by Koch Media on 4 November 2013 (as ''Pinocchio - The Adventures of Pinocchio'') and in Australia and New Zealand by Rialto Distribution. It was released in the United States by Lionsgate Home Entertainment on 10 April 2018, with some characters re-dubbed by celebrities. Enzo D'Alò
Enzo D'Alò (born 7 September 1953) is an Italian animator and director. Life and career Born in Naples, D'Alò moved to Turin in 1979 and there he started his career as animator working with the group "La Lanterna Magica". In 1983 he debuted as director of animated shorts, and in 1991 he was chosen to direct the TV-series ''Pimpa'', based on the comic character with the same name. The Fox and the Cat ( it, Il gatto e la volpe; "the cat and the fox") are a pair of fictional characters and the main antagonists, along with the Terrible Dogfish, in Italian writer Carlo Collodi's 1883 book ''Le avventure di Pinocchio'' (''The Adventures of Pinocchio''). Mangiafuoco ( ; , literally "Fire-Eater") is a fictional character who appears in Carlo Collodi's 1883 Italian book ''The Adventures of Pinocchio'' (''Le avventure di Pinocchio''), serving as a secondary antagonist turning good.
