Pieter Timmers
Pieter Timmers (born 21 January 1988) is a Belgian retired competitive swimmer who specialized in sprint freestyle events. He won the silver medal in the 100 meter freestyle at the 2016 Olympics. Timmers currently holds nine Belgian records, and seven national titles in long and short course freestyle (50, 100, and 200). Timmers is a resident athlete for Brabo Antwerp, and trains under his personal coach Ronald Gaastra. He stands , and weighs . The men's 4 × 100 metre freestyle relay event at the 2012 Summer Olympics took place on 29 July at the London Aquatics Centre in London, United Kingdom. Jasper Aerents (born 18 December 1992) is a Belgian swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle events. Career He won two bronze medals, as a member of the Belgian swimming team, in the 4×50 m freestyle relay at the 2011 European Short Course Swimming Championships in Szczecin, Poland, and at the 2012 European Short Course Swimming Championships in Chartres, France. He also captured a silver medal in the 50 m freestyle at the 2010 European Junior Swimming Championships in Helsinki, Finland by a quarter of a second (0.25) behind Ukraine's Andriy Hovorov, in a personal best of 22.79. Yoris Grandjean (born 20 March 1989) is a Belgian swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle events. He won two gold medals at the 2006 FINA Youth World Swimming Championships, and later represented Belgium at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Since 2009, he still currently holds a Belgian record (22.13) in the 50 m freestyle from the national championships in Antwerp. Grandjean also trains for Liège Swimming Club (french: Club Natation Liège) under his head coach Andre Henvaux. Grandjean made his international debut at the 2006 FINA Youth World Swimming Championships in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he achieved a total of three medals, and established multiple meet records: two golds each in the 50 m freestyle (22.74) and 100 m freestyle (50.32), and a silver in the 200 m freestyle (1:52.20).
