Piet J. Kroonenberg
Piet J. Kroonenberg (9 May 1927 - 7 September 2016) was a Scouting historian and was the historical consultant to the European Scout Committee. He had written books and articles about Scouting during World War II and post-War Scouting in Central and Eastern Europe. Biography Kroonenberg participated in the Dutch Resistance . Kroonenberg served in the Canadian Army from 1944 to 1947. Kroonenberg was a Dutch Scoutmaster and Scouting historian. Kroonenberg had been active in Scouting since 1935 and attended the 5th World Scout Jamboree in Vogelenzang, Bloemendaal, the Netherlands, in 1937. Frits Philips
Frederik Jacques "Frits" Philips (16 April 1905 – 5 December 2005) was the fourth chairman of the board of directors of the Dutch electronics company Philips, which his uncle and father founded. For his actions in saving 382 Jews during the Nazi Occupation of the Netherlands in World War II, he was recognized in 1996 by Yad Vashem as a Righteous Among the Nations. Early life and education Frits Philips was born in the city of Eindhoven in the south of the Netherlands. The second child, he was the only son of Anton Philips and his wife Anne Henriëtte Elisabeth Maria de Jongh. His father was of Dutch Jewish origin, as well as the co-founder when in 1912 they incorporated the family business. Frits had an older sister named Annetje and a younger sister named Jettie. The All-Russian Scout Association (ARSA; russian: Всероссийская скаутская ассоциация) is a Scouting and public youth organization in Russia. ARSA is the recognized member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement for Russia as part of the Eurasian Scout Region. Bronze Wolf
The Bronze Wolf Award is bestowed by the World Scout Committee (WSC) to acknowledge "outstanding service by an individual to the World Scout Movement". It is the highest honor that can be given a volunteer Scout leader in the world and it is the only award given by the WSC. Since the award's creation in 1935, fewer than 400 of the several millions of Scouts throughout the world have received the award. History Scouting's founder, Robert Baden-Powell, initially recognized outstanding contributions to Scouting by any Scout with the bestowal of the Silver Wolf, but although he was Chief Scout of the World, the Silver Wolf was associated with British Scouting. In 1924, the International Committee, predecessor of the WSC, determined that it needed an award to be given out in its own name and at its own recommendation. Bloemendaal () is a municipality and a town in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. Bloemendaal is, together with Wassenaar, the wealthiest place in the Netherlands. Scouting
Scouting, also known as the Scout Movement, is a worldwide youth movement employing the Scout method, a program of informal education with an emphasis on practical outdoor activities, including camping, woodcraft, aquatics, hiking, backpacking, and sports. Another widely recognized movement characteristic is the Scout uniform, by intent hiding all differences of social standing in a country and encouraging equality, with neckerchief and campaign hat or comparable headwear. Distinctive uniform insignia include the fleur-de-lis and the trefoil, as well as merit badges and other patches.
