Pierre Arcand
Pierre Arcand (born November 13, 1951) is a Canadian politician, businessman, announcer and journalist in Quebec, Canada. He was the elected Member of the National Assembly of Quebec (MNA) for the provincial riding of Mont-Royal–Outremont in the Island of Montreal from 2007 to 2022. He represented the Quebec Liberal Party. On October 5, 2018 Arcand was named interim leader, following the resignation of Philippe Couillard after the 2018 Quebec general election. He is the brother of journalist Paul Arcand. Studies and professional career Arcand attended Cegep de Saint-Hyacinthe and the HEC Montréal, HEC (Hautes etudes commerciales) in the 1970s. Monique Gagnon-Tremblay
Monique Gagnon-Tremblay (born May 26, 1940 in Plessisville, Quebec) is a politician in Quebec, Canada. She was the MNA for the riding of Saint-François in the Estrie region from 1985 to 2012. She served as Liberal leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly of Quebec from May 1998 to December 1998 and Deputy Premier in 1994 and from 2003 to 2005. Education and early career Gagnon-Tremblay attended the Quirion Business School where she obtained a degree and added a bachelor's degree in arts at the Université Laval and a degree in law and notarial law at the Université de Sherbrooke. 2018 Quebec General Election
The 2018 Quebec general election was held on October 1, 2018, to elect members to the National Assembly of Quebec. The election saw a landslide victory for the Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) led by François Legault, which won 74 of 125 seats, giving the party a majority and unseating the Quebec Liberal Party. The Liberals became the Official Opposition with 31 seats. This election was the first won by the CAQ, which had previously been the third party in the legislature. It was also the first since 1966 that had been won by a party other than the Liberals or Parti Québécois. Dominique Chaloult is a Québécoise media executive. She took office as executive director for television at public broadcaster Radio-Canada in 2015. Biography Career After leaving school and travelling to Mexico, Chaloult returned to Quebec to become a DJ at CIME-FM. She then became a researcher for television and worked her way up as a programming director, mainly in comedies and varieties. Mont-Royal is a provincial electoral district in Quebec, Canada that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It is located within the island of Montreal, and comprises the city of Mount Royal and part of the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough of Montreal. It was created for the 1973 election from parts of D'Arcy-McGee, Dorion and Outremont electoral districts. In the change from the 2001 to the 2011 electoral map, its territory was unchanged.
