Pierantonio Costa
Pierantonio Costa (7 May 1939 – 1 January 2021) was an Italian businessman, and diplomat who was the Italian honorary consul in Kigali during the Rwandan genocide in 1994. He was noted for the humanitarian assistance and safe passages that he arranged for over 2,000 people including over 375 children fleeing violence during this time. He was a recipient of the Commander of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic honor. He was nominated for the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize along with two Rwandan women Zura Karuhimbi and Yolande Mukagasana. Early life Costa was born in Mestre, a borough of Venice in Italy, on 7 May 1939, to Mariangela (née Colombo) and Pietro Giuseppe. He was fifth among seven siblings. Artemisia Lomi or Artemisia Gentileschi (, ; 8 July 1593) was an Italian Baroque painter. Gentileschi is considered among the most accomplished seventeenth-century artists, initially working in the style of Caravaggio. She was producing professional work by the age of 15. In an era when women had few opportunities to pursue artistic training or work as professional artists, Gentileschi was the first woman to become a member of the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno, Accademia di Arte del Disegno in Florence and she had an international clientele. Many of Gentileschi's paintings feature women from myths, allegories, and the Bible, including victims, suicides, and warriors. Pierantonio Tasca (1858–1934) was an Italian opera composer. His first opera, ''Bianca'', premiered in 1885, to a libretto by Enrico Golisciani. Eva Tetrazzini, elder sister of the famous Luisa Tetrazzini participated in the premiere. His next operas, '' A Santa Lucia'' (1892) and ''Pergolesi'' (1898), had successful premieres in Berlin. The libretto for ''A Santa Lucia'' was written by Enrico Golisciani, based on the book ''Scene popolari napoletane'' (1889) by Goffredo Cognetti (Napoli 1855-Castiglioncello, Livorno 1943). The score was published by Galletti e Cocci (Florence) in 1892. ''Pergolesi'' was based on a libretto by Eugenio Chécchi (Livorno 1838 - Roma 1932). In 1901, an operetta by Tasca called ''Studenti e sartine'' premiered in Tasca's hometown of Noto, in Sicily. Tasca presented the work using a pseudonym, "D'Anthony." Pierantonio Tremolada (born 4 October 1956 in Lissone) is an Italian Roman Catholic prelate who serves as the current Bishop of Brescia since his appointment on 12 July 2017. Prior to this he had served as a bishop in Milan. Life Pierantonio Tremolada was born in Lissone on 4 October 1956. Tremolada received his ordination to the priesthood from the then-Archbishop Carlo Maria Martini on 13 June 1981 and was sent afterwards to the Collegio Lombardo and to the Pontifical Biblical Institute where he received a bachelor's degree in Sacred Scripture. Beginning in 1985 he served as a professor of religious texts at the Theological College in Venegono until 2012. From 1997 until 2012 he served as the rector for the formation of permanent deacons.
