''Piemonte Parchi'' ('Piedmont Parks') is an Italian magazine devoted to nature parks and life sciences. It is published since 1983 in Turin (Italy) by the Piedmont Regional Government. History and profile ''Piemonte Parchi'' was the first magazine published by an Italian public administration devoted to nature conservation. Its first issue was published in November 1983 and soon the journal won a ''widespread praise''. The magazine consisted in a quarterly supplement of ''Notizie'', the official newspaper of the Regione Piemonte; in 1985 the magazine redoubled its pages (which from that year on were all printed in colours) and became bimonthly, and then monthly. A nature reserve (also known as a wildlife refuge, wildlife sanctuary, biosphere reserve or bioreserve, natural or nature preserve, or nature conservation area) is a protected area of importance for flora, fauna, or features of geological or other special interest, which is reserved and managed for purposes of conservation and to provide special opportunities for study or research. They may be designated by government institutions in some countries, or by private landowners, such as charities and research institutions. Piero Angela
Piero Domenico Angela (; 22 December 1928 – 13 August 2022) was an Italian television host, science journalist, writer, and pianist. He started as a radio reporter, then became a foreign correspondent, and established himself as the host of the RAI newscast. He is best known as the creator and presenter of broadcasting programmes modelled on BBC and David Attenborough documentaries, to whom he has been often compared, and also for his scientific journalism published in numerous publications. Laura Conti
Laura Conti (31 March 1921 – 25 May 1993) was an Italian anti-fascist partisan, doctor, environmentalist, socialist politician, feminist, and novelist, considered one of the avant-garde figures of Italian environmentalism. Biography Born in Udine, after having lived in Trieste and Verona, she moved to Milan to attend the Faculty of Medicine. In January 1944 she joined the Youth Front for National Independence and Freedom of Eugenio Curiel. On 4 July she was arrested; after a brief period in San Vittore, she was interned in the Bolzano Transit Camp. She luckily succeeded avoiding deportation to Germany. From this experience came the novel ''La condizione sperimentale''. Once free, she obtained her degree in Medicine. Reinhold Messner
Reinhold Andreas Messner (; born 17 September 1944) is an Italian mountaineer, explorer, and author from South Tyrol. He made the first solo ascent of Mount Everest and, along with Peter Habeler, the first ascent of Everest without supplemental oxygen. He was the first climber to ascend all fourteen peaks over above sea level without oxygen. Messner was the first to cross Antarctica and Greenland with neither snowmobiles nor dog sleds. He also crossed the Gobi Desert alone. He is widely considered one of the greatest mountaineers of all time. From 1999 to 2004, Messner served as a member of the European Parliament for north-east Italy, as a member of the Federation of the Greens. Local history is the study of history in a geographically local context, often concentrating on a relatively small local community. It incorporates cultural and social aspects of history.
