Scotch (band)
Scotch were an Italian Italo disco band, formed in Bergamo in 1982, that comprised Vince Lancini, Fabio Margutti, Franz Rome, Franz Felleti and Manlio Cangelli. History Scotch was created by David Zambelli and Walter Verdi, both record producers from Bergamo. The group's first success was "Penguins' Invasion", written by Manlio Cangelli. "Penguins' Invasion" was an instrumental piece. About three months after its release, it was decided to create a vocal version and Vince Lancini was chosen as singer. Later he joined the group with Fabio Margutti and Vince Lancini. Among their most known tracks are " Take Me Up", " Disco Band", "Mirage", " Delirio Mind", "Penguins' Invasion", "Evolution", "Plus Plus", " Money Runner", "Pictures" and "Man to Man". Italo Disco
Italo disco (variously capitalized, and sometimes hyphenated as Italo-disco) is a music genre which originated in Italy in the late 1970s and was mainly produced in the early 1980s. Italo disco evolved from the then-current underground dance, pop, and electronic music, both domestic and foreign (American hi-NRG, French Euro disco) and developed into a diverse genre. The genre employs electronic drums, drum machines, synthesizers, and occasionally vocoders. It is usually sung in English, and to a lesser extent in Italian and Spanish. The origin of the genre's name is strongly tied to marketing efforts of the ZYX record label, which began licensing and marketing the music outside Italy in 1982. Harold Arlen (born Hyman Arluck; February 15, 1905 – April 23, 1986) was an American composer of popular music, who composed over 500 songs, a number of which have become known worldwide.
