Phlegeton
J.L. Rey (born 1979), better known by his stage name Phlegeton, is a Spanish musician, audio producer, and visual artist based in Madrid. Over the years, Phlegeton created various bands and musical projects. He is best known for his work as vocalist in the band Wormed, and for his artistic work on album covers, especially death metal albums. His pseudonym is based on the Greek mythology, the river Phlegethon (Φλεγέθων, English translation: "flaming"), one of the five rivers in the infernal regions of the underworld. Music Phlegeton has fronted a number of bands as a vocalist and drummer, including Wormed, Human Mincer, Wrong, Banished from Inferno, and Unsane Crisis. He has also been a member of Godüs, The YTriple Corporation, Garth Arum (live), Nüll, and Infernal. Overall, he has released 10 studio albums. Wormed
Wormed is a Spanish technical death metal band. The group formed in 1998 in Madrid and are known for their sci-fi and space influenced imagery, lyrics and sound. The band has released three full-length albums to date. History In the beginning, the first line-up was: J. Oliver (guitar), Dani (guitar), Guillemoth (bass), Andy C. (drums). After a few months the band contacted with Phlegeton the official vocalist of Wormed. ''Phlegeton'' gives fresh air to the band transforming the band concept from the classical gore to another concept, based in the outer space far from imagination. The music turned into an atypical death metal full of diverse influences. In December 1999, the first MCD demo was recorded, '' Floating Cadaver in the Monochrome'', with the collaboration of Tana Avulsed as sound engineer. Phlegethon
In Greek mythology, the river Phlegethon ( Φλεγέθων, English translation: "flaming") or Pyriphlegethon (Πυριφλεγέθων, English translation: "fire-flaming") was one of the five rivers in the infernal regions of the underworld, along with the rivers Styx, Lethe, Cocytus, and Acheron. Plato describes it as "a stream of fire, which coils round the earth and flows into the depths of Tartarus". It was parallel to the river Styx. It is said that the goddess Styx was in love with Phlegethon, but she was consumed by his flames and sent to Hades. Eventually, when Hades allowed her river to flow through, they reunited. Literary depictions In ''Oedipus'' by Seneca the Younger, the first singing of the chorus, which mainly describes the plague that has settled in Thebes, includes the line, "Phlegethon has changed his course and mingled Styx with Theban streams." Imperial Triumphant is an American experimental metal band formed in 2005 in New York City. History Imperial Triumphant was formed in 2005 by Zachary Ilya Ezrin in New York City. Their first album, ''Abominamentvm'', was released in 2012. Imperial Triumphant's second album, ''Abyssal Gods'', was released in 2015. Described by No Clean Singing's Austin Weber, "''Abyssal Gods'', is overall a thoroughly vicious act of blasphemy packed with more memorable moments than many bands accumulate in a lifetime of albums". Aborted is a Belgian death metal band formed in 1995 in Waregem. The group currently consists of vocalist, founder and only constant member Sven de Caluwé, guitarist Ian Jekelis, bassist Stefano Franceschini and drummer Ken Bedene. Although the band originally had an entire lineup of members living in Belgium, Aborted's current lineup now features members from Belgium, The Netherlands, Iceland and the United States.
