Philippine Air Force F.C.
Philippine Air Force Football Club is a Filipino professional football club whose original players were officers, enlisted personnel, and civilians of the Philippine Air Force. The club last competed in the Philippines Football League, the top tier of football in the Philippines. Founded in 1960, Philippine Air Force has won several trophies including four national championships in the 1980s and 1990s. PAF has also participated in the Asian Club Championship and the Asian Cup Winners' Cup. Philippine Air Force were one of the founding members of the United Football League (UFL), which was the ''de facto'' top flight of Philippine football back then. They won the inaugural UFL Cup in 2009 and went on to win the inaugural season of the UFL in 2010, becoming the first Filipino club to win the double. The Philippines Football League, commonly known as PFL, is a Filipino professional football league sanctioned by the Philippine Football Federation (PFF). It is the Philippines' highest level of men's club football, supplanting the United Football League (UFL), which was previously the ''de facto'' top-tier league in the country. Starting from the 2020 season, the league is also known as The Philippines Football League brought to you by Qatar Airways, due to the league's title sponsorship. 2014 United Football League
The 2014 United Football League was the fifth season of the UFL since its establishment as a semi-professional league in 2009. The UFL League kicked off on Saturday, January 11 with 9 teams in Division I and 12 teams in Division II. Stallion was the defending champion, having won the Division 1 of the 2013 United Football League season. Global outclassed Pachanga Diliman 7-2 on 12 June 2014 to win the 2014 United Football League title with three games to spare. Mendiola Street (simply known as "Mendiola") is a short thoroughfare in Manila, Philippines. The street is named after Enrique Mendiola, an educator, textbook author, and member of the first Board of Regents of the University of the Philippines. Mariano "Nonong" V. Araneta, Jr. (born November 9, 1954) is a Filipino sports executive, businessman and retired footballer. Araneta formerly played for the Philippines national football team. He is the current president of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) and a member of the FIFA Council since May 2017. Elmer "Lacknet" Bedia is a retired Australian-Filipino footballer who played for the Philippine Air Force FC, Brisbane Olympic United F.C. and the Philippines national team.
