Philipp Daniel Merckle
Philipp Daniel Merckle (born 1 October 1966 in Hamburg, Germany) is a German entrepreneur. From 2005 to 2008 he has headed the pharmaceutical company Ratiopharm within the family group Merckle. Early life After he graduated from high school, Merckle began business training, eventually earning a Bachelor of Arts degree as Betriebswirt. In 1998 he earned PhD in pharmaceutical studies at the University of Tübingen. Career In 1999, he took over the research and development of pharmaceutical company Merckle / Ratiopharm. Public Appearances As Ratiopharm chief Philip Merckle was featured in TV advertising with Karlheinz Böhm. At the Africa Foundation, he manages the company's policy of selling pills to African refugees for 1 cent each. Mark Christopher Paul Ehrenfried (; born 24 June 1991) is a German pianist and composer. He has published five albums and performed concerts worldwide. In Germany, he is especially known for his childhood TV appearances, for his collaborations with pop-music producer Jack White, as well as for touring with the East-German rock band The Puhdys. Recently, Ehrenfried performs piano music of the Norwegian Romantic composer Christian Sinding. Ehrenfried also holds speeches about Christianity, music, values and culture. Arved Fuchs
Arved Fuchs (born 26 April 1953) is a German polar exploration, polar explorer and writer. Polar exploration On 30 December 1989, Fuchs and Reinhold Messner were the first to reach the South Pole with neither animal nor motorised help, using skis and a parasailing, parasail. That made him the first person to reach both poles by foot within one year. Many of his expeditions have taken place on water, such as his failed attempt to sail around North Pole on a traditional sailing boat (1991–1994). This boat, ''Dagmar Aaen'', is still used by Fuchs on his current expeditions. In 2000, Fuchs led an expedition to recreate Ernest Shackleton's desperate sea journey in the Voyage of the James Caird, James Caird from Elephant Island to South Georgia, and the subsequent land crossing of that island.
