Philip Hindes
Philip Hindes Order of the British Empire, MBE (born 22 September 1992) is a British Track cycling, track cyclist, specialising in Sprint (cycling), sprints. He holds dual nationality, having been born in Germany to a United Kingdom, British father. Having initially competed for Germany at a junior level, in 2010 he switched to the British Cycling programme. At the 2012 Summer Olympics he won the gold medal in the Cycling at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Men's team sprint, Men's team sprint, and again at the 2016 Summer Olympics he won the gold medal in the Cycling at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Men's team sprint, Men's team sprint. Early life Hindes was born in Krefeld, Germany. His father served with the British Army in Germany where he met Hindes' German mother. Order Of The British Empire
The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organisations, and public service outside the civil service. Peter Mitchell (cyclist)
Peter Mitchell (born 12 January 1990 in London, England) is an English track cyclist, specialising in the individual and team sprints. In 2009, he was named in the Team Sky+ HD track cycling team alongside names such as Chris Hoy and Victoria Pendelton. In November 2012 it was announced that Mitchell was joining the British paralympic cycling squad as a pilot for the tandem events. Mitchell teamed up with Paralympic gold medallist and multiple world champion Neil Fachie for the 2013 British National Track Championships, where they were second in both the kilo time trial and the 200-metre flying start time trial for mixed blind/visually impaired competitors. In addition he scored a solo second place in the sprint, being defeated in the final by Jason Kenny. David Daniell (cyclist)
David Daniell (born 23 December 1989 in Middlesbrough) is an English competitive cyclist, specialising in track sprinting. A member of the British Cycling Olympic Academy, he is a Junior World Team Sprint Champion for the second year running. Daniell began cycling after being spotted at his school in British Cycling's Go-Ride scheme. He was nominated for BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year in 2006 and was awarded Junior Sport's Personality of the Year at the 11th annual '' Evening Gazette'' Sports Awards 2007. His first victory in a World Cup event was in October 2008, when he beat Yevhen Bolibrukh of Ukraine. The sprint or match sprint is a track cycling event involving between two and four riders, though it is usually run as a one-on-one match race between opponents who, unlike in the individual pursuit, start next to each other.
