Phil King (musician)
Phil King (born Philip King on 29 April 1960 in London, England) is an English musician perhaps best known for being the bassist of Lush. From 2007 to 2015 he was the touring bass player/rhythm guitar player for The Jesus and Mary Chain having previously toured with the group from 1997 to 1998. Career Circa 1987 King played bass for Felt, Biff Bang Pow! and The Servants. Featuring on the former's '' Bubblegum Perfume'' compilation. He also fronted Apple Boutique that released a single 1987. He appeared playing drums in Primal Scream's 1987 music video for "Gentle Tuesday", the opening track of the group's 1987 album entitled ''Sonic Flower Groove''; chosen because of his haircut. The sound recordings of his drumming were not used for any release. He also worked as a researcher for ''NME''. Porno for Pyros is an American alternative rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, United States in 1992, following the break-up of Jane's Addiction. The band currently consists of former Jane's Addiction members Perry Farrell (vocals) and Stephen Perkins (drums), alongside founding members Peter DiStefano (guitar) and Martyn LeNoble (bass). Bass guitarist Mike Watt was a member of the band from 1995 until 1998, and again for one-off appearances in 2020 and 2022. James McLeish Reid (born 29 December 1961) is a Scottish singer/songwriter and the lead singer for the alternative rock band The Jesus and Mary Chain, which he formed with his elder brother and guitarist William Reid in 1983. Career The Jesus and Mary Chain Reid is the lead singer and founding member of the alternative rock band The Jesus and Mary Chain. They released six studio albums before they split up in 1999. They reformed in March 2007. Freeheat Reid went on to form the band Freeheat with former Mary Chain drummer Nick Sanderson and guitarist Ben Lurie. The Fallen Leaves
The Fallen Leaves are a British garage rock group that formed in Richmond, London in 2004. The group was formed by Rob Symmons (dustbin guitar) and Rob Green (vocals) with Paul Myers (bass). The current line-up features drummer Brett Buddy Ascott ex of Mod/Punk band The Chords, and bassist Gareth Evans. Prehistory Symmons and Myers, along with Vic Goddard, were founding members of the Subway Sect. During the recording of the first Subway Sect album, manager Bernie Rhodes sacked the band except for singer-songwriter Goddard. Myers went on to play bass with Steve Jones and Paul Cook in the The Professionals (band), Professionals. Jackie DeShannon (born Sharon Lee Myers, August 21, 1941) is an American singer-songwriter and radio broadcaster with a string of hit song credits from the 1960s onwards, as both singer and composer. John Howard (born Howard Michael Jones, 9 April 1953) is an English singer-songwriter, pianist and recording artist. With his February 1975 debut album ''Kid in a Big World'' (CBS Records), Howard emerged as a late voice of the glam-pop wave of the early 1970s. John's Children
John's Children were a 1960s mod rock band from Leatherhead, England that briefly featured future T. Rex frontman Marc Bolan. John's Children were known for their outrageous live performances and were booted off a tour with the Who in Germany in 1967 when they upstaged the headliners. Their 1967 single "Desdemona", a Bolan composition, was banned by the BBC because of the controversial lyric, "Lift up your skirt and fly." Their US record label delayed the release of their debut album, ''Orgasm'', for four years from its recording date due to objections from Daughters of the American Revolution. John's Children were active for less than two years and were not very successful commercially, having released only six singles and one album, but they are seen by some as the precursors of glam rock. See See Rider were an indie rock group formed in East Kilbride, Scotland, and active between 1989 and 1992, and featuring former members of The Primitives and Felt. The band took their name from the Lead Belly song "C.C. Rider". Earl Brutus were a British indie rock band that emerged in the 1990s. They were formed in 1993 by Nick Sanderson, Rob Marche (formerly of JoBoxers and If?), Jamie Fry (formerly of World of Twist) and Stuart Boreman.
