Phi Beta Delta (honor Society)
The Phi Beta Delta Society () is an international honor society that was founded at California State University, Long Beach on February 27, 1986. It was the first honor society dedicated to recognize scholarly achievement in international involvement and education, to give scholarships to deserving students and to enhance knowledge about various cultures around the world. It was established as a national organization in 1987 with 38 chartered chapters, and has grown to become an international organization with over 179 chapters. The motto of the society is "Scientia Mutua Mundi" (World's Shared Knowledge). Phi Beta Delta (ΦΒΔ) stands for philomatheia, biotremmonia, diapheren — "Love of knowledge, valuing of human life; and achieving excellence". California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) is a public research university in Long Beach, California. The 322-acre campus is the second largest of the 23-school California State University system (CSU) and one of the largest universities in the state of California by enrollment, its student body numbering 39,435 for the fall 2021 semester. Leonel Antonio Fernández Reyna () (born 26 December 1953) is a Dominican Republic, Dominican lawyer, academic, and was the 50th and 52nd President of the Dominican Republic from 1996 to 2000 and from 2004 to 2012. Dupont Circle (or DuPont Circle) is a traffic circle, park, neighborhood and historic district in Northwest Washington, D.C. The Dupont Circle neighborhood is bounded approximately by 16th Street NW to the east, 22nd Street NW to the west, M Street NW to the south, and Florida Avenue NW to the north. The Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS) is a predominantly American, voluntary association that serves a number of functions with respect to national collegiate and post-graduate honor societies. ACHS coordinates member organizations, facilitates communications between them, and provides both scholarships and an outlet for publication to members through its member organizations. ACHS member societies undergo periodic audits to validate their adherence to ACHS standards and their qualification for membership and ACHS certification. A margarita is a cocktail consisting of Tequila, triple sec, and lime juice often served with salt on the rim of the glass.
