Petrovo, Bosnia And Herzegovina
Petrovo (Serbian Cyrillic: Петрово) is a town and municipality located in Republika Srpska, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. As of 2013, the town has a population of 2,322 inhabitants, while the municipality has 6,474 inhabitants. The municipality was formed from parts of the pre-war municipalities of Gračanica and Lukavac (the other parts of the pre-war municipalities are now in the other Bosnian entity of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina). Geography The municipality is close to Doboj, halfway between Doboj and Tuzla. It is located on the mountain of Ozren. History The municipality was formed by Bosnian Serb authorities during the war. Bosnian government never recognised this decision and officially municipality was created after the signing of the Dayton Agreement. Bačko Petrovo Selo ( sr-cyr, Бачко Петрово Село; Hungarian: ''Péterréve'', German: ''Batschko Petrovo Selo'') is a village located in the Bečej Municipality, in the South Bačka District of Serbia. It is situated in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. The village has a Hungarian ethnic majority and its population numbering 7,318 people (2002 census). Features The village is located on the right bank of the river Tisa. There are two monuments in the village in memory of the people who lost their lives in the Second World War. Baranjsko Petrovo Selo ( hu, Petárda, sr-Cyrl, Барањско Петрово Село) is a settlement in the region of Baranja, Croatia. Administratively, it is located in the Petlovac municipality within the Osijek-Baranja County. Population is 525 people. History It was first mentioned in 1349 and its older name was ''Petarda''. Ličko Petrovo Selo is a village in Lika, Croatia. It is located near the Plitvice Lakes. It is connected by the D1 highway. East of the village, the D217 ends at the Ličko Petrovo Selo border crossing with Bosnia and Herzegovina (continuing to Izačić and on to Bihać). Founded in 1792, Ličko Petrovo Selo was historically a majority Serb community and has an Orthodox church. Petrovo, Blagoevgrad Province is a village in the municipality of Sandanski, in Blagoevgrad Province, Bulgaria. Geography The village is located in a mountainous area at the northern foor of Slavyanka, close to the Greek border. 6 kilometers away from the village there is an area known as Izvora, where the Petrovska river originates. The river provides drinking water for 15 villages in the region. History Ottoman rule During the Ottoman rule in 19th century, the village was often part of the kaza of Demirhisar of the Sanjak of Serres.
