Petrovo, Bosnia And Herzegovina
Petrovo (Serbian Cyrillic: Петрово) is a town and municipality located in Republika Srpska, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. As of 2013, the town has a population of 2,322 inhabitants, while the municipality has 6,474 inhabitants. The municipality was formed from parts of the pre-war municipalities of Gračanica and Lukavac (the other parts of the pre-war municipalities are now in the other Bosnian entity of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina). Geography The municipality is close to Doboj, halfway between Doboj and Tuzla. It is located on the mountain of Ozren. History The municipality was formed by Bosnian Serb authorities during the war. Bosnian government never recognised this decision and officially municipality was created after the signing of the Dayton Agreement. Lukavac ( sr-cyrl, Лукавац) is a city located in Tuzla Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. According to the 2013 census, the town has a population of 12,061 inhabitants, with 44,520 inhabitants in the city. Geography Lukavac covers an area of 352,66 km2. Ozren Monastery
The Ozren Monastery ( sr, Манастир Озрен, Manastir Ozren) is a Serbian Orthodox monastery dedicated to Saint Nicholas and located 6 kilometres from the town of Petrovo in northern Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is the spiritual centre of the area of Mount Ozren. It was probably founded in the second half of the 16th century, during the office of Serbian Patriarch Makarije Sokolović, who was granted permission from the sultan of the Ottoman Empire to renovate and build churches and monasteries. Folk tradition, formed in the 18th century, has it that the Ozren Monastery was founded by King Dragutin, a member of the Serbian Nemanjić dynasty, who ruled north-eastern Bosnia from 1284 to 1316. The frescoes in the monastery's church were painted in the early 17th century. After the Great Turkish War (1683–1699), the monastery fell into disrepair. The General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina, also known as the Dayton Agreement or the Dayton Accords ( Croatian: ''Daytonski sporazum'', Serbian and Bosnian: ''Dejtonski mirovni sporazum'' / Дејтонски мировни споразум), is the peace agreement reached at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio, United States, on 21 November 1995, and formally signed in Paris, on 14 December 1995. These accords put an end to the three-and-a-half-year-long Bosnian War, which was part of the much larger Yugoslav Wars. Ozren (Bosnia And Herzegovina)
Ozren is a mountain in northern Bosnia and Herzegovina. It lies between cities of Doboj and Zavidovići, partly in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Federation and partly in the Republika Srpska entity. Ozren is rich in natural resources.
