Petišovci Stadium ( sl, Stadion Petišovci) is a purpose-built motorcycle speedway stadium near Lendava in Slovenia. It is located east of Petišovci and approximately 5 kilometres south of Lendava, off the Rudarska ulica. The facility hosts the Športno Društvo Lendava team. History The facility has been a significant venue for speedway and hosted many important events, including qualifying rounds of the Speedway World Championship, starting in 1981, when Slovenia was part of Yugoslavia. Lendava
Lendava (; formerly ''Dolnja Lendava'', in older sources also ''Dolenja Lendava''; hu, Lendva, formerly ''Alsólendva''; german: Lindau, formerly ''Unter-Limbach'') is a town in Slovenia in the region of Prekmurje. It is the seat of the Municipality of Lendava. It is close to the border crossing with Hungary at Dolga Vas–Rédics, and Hungarian is one of the official languages of the municipality, along with Slovene. Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines that use only one gear and have no brakes. Racing takes place on a flat oval track usually consisting of dirt, loosely packed shale, or crushed rock (mostly used in Australia and New Zealand). Petišovci
Petišovci ( or ; hu, Petesháza) is a settlement south of Lendava in the Prekmurje region of Slovenia. It lies on the left bank of the Mur River, Mura River, right on the border with Croatia. Buildings The local church in the settlement is dedicated to Saint Rosalia and belongs to the Parish of Lendava. It was built in 1994. Speedway World Championship
The World Championship of Speedway is an international competition between the highest-ranked motorcycle speedway riders of the world, run under the auspices of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). The first official championships were held in 1936. Today, this official FIM championship is organised as a series of Speedway Grand Prix events, where points are awarded according to performance in the event and tallied up at the end of each season. However, up to 1994, it was run as a single-night event after qualifying rounds during the season, leading up to a big final of 20 heats, where points were awarded according to riders' heat placings and then tallied up at the end. Before the World Championship received its formal recognition from the ACU and the FIM in 1936, other unofficial Speedway World Championships were staged between 1931 and 1935, in Europe, South America and Australasia. 2009 Individual Speedway Junior European Championship
The 2009 European Individual Speedway Junior Championship will be the 12th UEM Individual Speedway Junior European Championship season. The Final will be place on 11 July 2009 in Tarnów, Poland; it will be fourth Final in Poland, but first time in Tarnów. Defending European Champion is Artur Mroczka from Poland who won in 2008 Final in Stralsund, Germany. 2010 Individual Speedway Junior World Championship
The 2010 Individual Speedway Junior World Championship was the 34th edition of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme, FIM World motorcycle speedway Under-21 Championships. For the first time a champion would be determined from three races between 17 July and 2 October 2010. Three riders (the 2009 Champion Darcy Ward, Maciej Janowski and Maksims Bogdanovs all tied on 30 points after the three races meaning a run-off was needed to decide the medals. Ward became the second rider to win the Under-21 World Champion title twice, after Emil Sayfutdinov (2007 and 2008 champion) after beating Janowksi and Bogdanovs in the run-off. Qualification In five Qualifying round was started 80 riders and to Semi-finals was qualify top 6 from each meetings. This 30 riders and 2 riders from Semi-final' host federations (Matija Duh of Slovenia and Kevin Wölbert of Germany) was started in two Semi-finals.
