Peterborough Transit
Peterborough Transit is the public transport operator for the City of Peterborough, Ontario, & Township of Selwyn, Ontario. The majority of their system consists of ten main routes within the urban area of Peterborough. There are three community bus routes that serve businesses and seniors homes. There are two Selwyn "The Link" routes that connects the towns of Curve Lake, Lakefield, Ennismore, & Bridgenorth to Trent University. For those who are physically unable to use the regular transit bus there is a special Handi-Van paratransit service. The main & community routes cost $2.75, trans-cab costs $3.50, and Selwyn "The link" routes cost $8 per trip. History Transit began in Peterborough as a streetcar service with the Peterborough and Ashburnham Street Railway Company, which was established in 1893 and operated until 1898. ''The Peterborough Examiner'' is a newspaper that services Peterborough, Ontario and area. The paper started circulation in 1847, and is currently owned by Torstar and operated by its Metroland division. Between 1942 and 1955, it was edited by Canadian man of letters Robertson Davies, whose unique three-paragraph editorial style won several awards. Davies remained owner and publisher of the ''Examiner'' and Ralph Hancox the editor until 1967, when it was sold to the Thomson chain of newspapers. Subsequently, Sterling, Hollinger and Sun Media owned the newspaper before Postmedia. ''The Peterborough Examiner'' was one of several Postmedia newspapers purchased by Torstar in a transaction between the two companies which concluded on November 27, 2017. Oshawa GO Bus Terminal
Oshawa Bus Terminal was a bus terminal located at 47 Bond Street West in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. The building is owned by the City of Oshawa and incorporates a multi-storey municipal parking lot; it no longer serves buses. City Council has adopted, in principle, the Downtown Action Plan, July 2005, which recommended that the bus terminal functions should be relocated from this priority development site. On November 2, 2018, the Oshawa Bus Terminal partially shut down; ticket booths, the waiting room and washrooms were closed indefinitely. GO Transit stopped selling tickets at the ticket booth on October 30 but tickets and Presto remained available via a vending machine. Ticket sales for Durham Region Transit ended after November 2. Curve Lake First Nation
Curve Lake First Nation ( oj, Oshkiigmong) is a Mississauga Ojibway First Nation located in Peterborough County of Ontario. Curve Lake First Nation occupies three reserves; Curve Lake First Nation 35, Curve Lake 35A, and Islands in the Trent Waters Indian Reserve 36A. The last of these reserves is shared with the Hiawatha First Nation and the Scugog First Nation. GO Transit bus services are provided throughout the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) and the Greater Golden Horseshoe. In , the system had a ridership of .
