Peter Ågren
Peter Ågren is a Swedish songwriter, producer, musician and artist. Credits include The Amplifetes, Tove Styrke, Peter, Bjorn & John and Little Majorette. He started his career as singer for Swedish powerpop band Grass Show. He went on to sign with renowned publishing company Murlyn Music as a songwriter. In 2008, he joined Swedish electro pop project The Amplifetes, together with Henrik Jonback, Henrik Korpi and Tommy Spaanheden. Ågren works from his stockholm based studio, frequently collaborating with other writers. The Amplifetes
The Amplifetes was a 4-piece band from Sweden. Influences range along a broad spectrum, including 60s psychedelia, the Electric Light Orchestra, The Ramones, Elvis Costello, David Bowie, and Chicago Trax Records. The individual members have had success as songwriters and producers, working with artists such as Kelis, Britney Spears, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, and Grandmaster Flash. The band has been active since 2008. In 2010, they released their eponymous debut album. Four singles were taken from this album: ''It's My Life'', ''Whizz Kid'', ''Somebody New'', and ''Blinded By The Moonlight''. Following this, the band toured extensively over Europe for two years. Early summer 2012 saw the first sign of post-debut activity, as their new song ''Where Is The Light'' was launched, together with an accompanying internet video game. Ninsun Poli is a Assyrians in Sweden, Swedish-Assyrian singer and songwriter raised in Tumba, Sweden, Tumba, Botkyrka, a suburb of Stockholm, Sweden. This soul and R&B artist made her debut at Hultsfred Festival 2004 in Sweden followed by performances at Stockholm's Berns Salonger, Berns, Lydmar, Alcazar and Nalen and at Malmö Festival in Malmö in summer of 2006. Ninsun Poli writes most of her own material but has also collaborated with her brother Nabu Poli who is a member of Mili Mili World Music. She recorded her EP For Real in Los Angeles. Pyramiden
Pyramiden (; rus, Пирами́да, r=Piramída, p=pʲɪrɐˈmʲidə; literally 'The Pyramid') is an abandoned Soviet coal mining settlement on the Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard which has become a tourist destination. Founded by Sweden in 1910 and sold to the Soviet Union in 1927, Pyramiden was closed in 1998 and has since remained largely abandoned with most of its infrastructure and buildings still in place, the cold climate preserving much of what has been left behind. Since 2007, there have been efforts to make it a tourist attraction; the town's hotel was renovated and reopened in 2013. In summer there is a population of six caretakers. Peter Morén
Peter Andreas Morén (born 5 May 1976) is a Swedish musician. He is the guitarist and vocalist of the indie rock trio Peter Bjorn and John. He is also a founding member of the Stockholm-based artist collective INGRID. He was born and raised in Mora, and started his musical career playing the violin, but soon changed to the guitar. His musical interest made him move to the town Västerås, where he entered a high school music programme at the Carlforsska gymnasiet and met Björn Yttling. Marit Bergman also studied at the high school at the same time. In 1999, when Morén was studying film science in Stockholm, he met John Eriksson at a party and they began discussing the comic Phantom and indie rock band Lilys. After the meeting, they started to jam together with Morén's friend Björn Yttling, which ended up in the creation of Peter Bjorn and John. Lo-Fi-Fnk is a Swedish electropop-band formed in 2001 consisting of Leonard Drougge and August Hellsing. They have released two EPs, ''We Is'' in 2002 and ''...And the JFG?'' in 2005. Great Leap Forward
The Great Leap Forward (Second Five Year Plan) of the People's Republic of China (PRC) was an economic and social campaign led by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) from 1958 to 1962. CCP Chairman Mao Zedong launched the campaign to reconstruct the country from an agrarian economy into a communist society through the formation of people's communes. Mao decreed that efforts to multiply grain yields and bring industry to the countryside should be increased. Local officials were fearful of Anti-Rightist Campaigns and they competed to fulfill or over-fulfill quotas which were based on Mao's exaggerated claims, collecting non-existent "surpluses" and leaving farmers to starve to death. Higher officials did not dare to report the economic disaster which was being caused by these policies, and national officials, blaming bad weather for the decline in food output, took little or no action. Tove Anna Linnéa Östman Styrke (; born 19 November 1992) is a Swedish singer and songwriter. She gained popularity as a contestant on '' Swedish Idol 2009'', finishing in third place. After the show, she started a solo career in electropop. She released her debut album ''Tove Styrke'' in 2010. The ''New York Post'' included Styrke in its list of "10 Artists to Know in 2011".
