Lo-Fi-Fnk
Lo-Fi-Fnk is a Swedish electropop-band formed in 2001 consisting of Leonard Drougge and August Hellsing. They have released two EPs, ''We Is'' in 2002 and ''...And the JFG?'' in 2005. On April 24, 2006, they released their first studio album, ''Boylife''. Since then they started touring the world, and in 2008, they started working on their second album, ''The Last Summer'', which was released in August 2011. History Formation Lo-Fi-Fnk started out as an electronic act in 2001 when band members Leonard Drougge and August Hellsing entered a talent show in their high school. ''Boylife'' The debut album "Boylife" was released in Scandinavia on April 24, 2006 by the label La Vida Locash and throughout the rest of Europe on August 28 by Moshi Moshi. Moshi Moshi Records is a small London-based record label founded in 1998 by Adrian Pike, Michael McClatchey and Stephen Bass. The label has released music by bands including Lykke Li, Fimber Bravo, Bloc Party, Hot Chip, Late of the Pier, Hot Club De Paris, Kate Nash, Florence and the Machine, Architecture in Helsinki, the Wave Pictures, Disclosure, Sweet Baboo, Tilly and the Wall, Blue Foundation, Slow Club, Happyness, and Au Revoir Simone. Mates Of State's 2008 record '' Re-Arrange Us'' was Moshi Moshi's 50th release. Adrian Pike left the set up within a couple of years leaving McClatchey and Bass to carry on the business. Big Girl (You Are Beautiful)
"Big Girl (You Are Beautiful)" is the fourth single from the debut album ''Life in Cartoon Motion'' of singer Mika. It reached number 9 in the UK charts after it was released on 23 July 2007. It was inspired by, and written for the Butterfly Lounge, the first Size Acceptance nightclub in Orange County, California. The club is mentioned specifically in the lyrics "Get yourself to the Butterfly Lounge. Find yourself a big lady", and is now their theme song. A B-side of the single is " Standing in the Way of Control". The song was met with mixed reviews from music critics. The song peaked at number 9 in the United Kingdom (his third top 10 hit in that country), and reached the top ten in Ireland, Finland, Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands. Le Tigre (, ; French for "The Tiger") is an American electronic rock band formed by Kathleen Hanna (of Bikini Kill), Johanna Fateman and Sadie Benning in 1998 in New York City. Yelle
Yelle is a French band founded by lead singer and namesake Yelle (Julie Budet) and GrandMarnier (Jean-François Perrier). A third member, Tepr (Tanguy Destable), joined the band before the recording of their debut album. Yelle and GrandMarnier began working on music together in 2000. The band came to prominence when it posted an early version of the song "Je veux te voir" on MySpace in September 2005, which later reached the top five in France. The Black Ghosts
The Black Ghosts are an English electronic music duo composed of Theo Keating and Simon William Lord, formed in 2006. They are currently signed to Southern Fried Records in the UK and IAMSOUND Records in North America. Keating and Lord had previously been in the bands The Wiseguys and Simian respectively. Keating is well known for his other recording synonyms Touche and Fake Blood. GoodBooks
GoodBooks were an English indie rock band from Sevenoaks in Kent. They first received media attention upon releasing their self-published EP ''Valves and Robots'' in June 2005. The band signed to Transgressive Records in late 2005 for one single (bassist Christopher Porter has the date the band signed their record deal tattooed on his left wrist) and released "Walk With Me" in April, before being signed by Columbia Records shortly after. Shout Out Louds
Shout Out Louds is a Swedish indie pop band from Stockholm. History Formed in Stockholm by childhood friends Adam Olenius (vocals), Ted Malmros (bass), and Carl von Arbin (guitars), Shout Out Louds found an international audience during the early 2000s with their peppy Swedish pop. The lineup began taking shape in 2001, with drummer Eric Edman and keyboardist Bebban Stenborg climbing aboard shortly thereafter. Unklejam
Unklejam were a British dance music band formed by Tendai Tyson. Background Unklejam's name is taken from Funkadelic's 1979 album ''Uncle Jam Wants You''. Their sound is a mixture of electro, R&B and soul with influences ranging from P-Funk to Prince and Sly and the Family Stone. The band were signed to Virgin Records.
