Peter Sinclair Sr.
Peter Sinclair (November 18, 1819 – October 9, 1906) was a Scottish farmer and politician in Prince Edward Island. He represented Queen's County in the House of Commons of Canada from 1873 to 1878 as a Liberal member. He was born in Glendaruel, Argyleshire, the son of Peter Sinclair, and came to Queens County, Prince Edward Island in 1840 with his mother. He was an unsuccessful candidate for a seat in the provincial assembly in 1858. Sinclair represented 1st Queens in the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1867 to 1873 and from 1882 to 1900 as a Liberal. He served in the Executive Council for the province as government leader from 1872 to 1873 and as minister without portfolio from 1891 to 1898. He was unsuccessful in a bid for reelection to the federal parliament in 1878. Sinclair married Margaret MacMurdo in 1879. He died in Summerfield in 1906. Queen's County (electoral District)
Queen's County was a federal electoral district in Prince Edward Island, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1873 to 1896. This riding was created in 1873 when Prince Edward Island joined the Canadian Confederation. It was abolished in 1892 when it was redistributed into East Prince, East Queen's and West Queen's ridings. It consisted of Queen's County, and elected two members. John Ewen Sinclair
John Ewen Sinclair, (December 24, 1879 – December 23, 1949) was a Canadian politician. Born in Summerfield, Prince Edward Island, the son of Peter Sinclair, he was first elected to the House of Commons of Canada in the Prince Edward Island riding of Queen's in 1917 federal election. A Liberal, he was re-elected in 1921. He was defeated in 1925 but was re-elected in 1926. From 1921 to 1925, he was a Minister without Portfolio. Peter Sinclair (13 November 1887 – 8 March 1938) was a Liberal party member of the House of Commons of Canada. He was born in Summerfield, Prince Edward Island and became a farmer. The son of Peter Sinclair and Margaret MacMurdo, Sinclair was educated in Springfield and farmed near Charlottetown. Sinclair was a Liberal member of the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1927 until his defeat in the 1931 election, at the 1st Queens riding. He was first elected to Parliament at the Queen's riding in the 1935 general election.
