Peter Maffay Band
Peter Alexander Makkay (born 30 August 1949), known as Peter Maffay (), is a Romanian-born German musician, singer, and composer. Early life Born in Braşov (german: link=no, Kronstadt), Romania, the son of a German (Transylvanian Saxon), he was 14 when his family relocated to his parents' West Germany in 1963. In the same year, he started his first band, The Dukes. After completing his education and working for Chemigraphics, an art manufacturer, Maffay worked in clubs, where he distributed his music. Career Maffay's career started with the publication of his first single, " Du" ("You"). It was his biggest German hit in 1970 and brought him instant fame. With the 1979 album '' Steppenwolf'', he became a major music star in Germany. The album sold 1.6 million copies, making it one of the best selling albums at that time. Carl Carlton (born Karl Walter Ahlerich Buskohl, 20 April 1955) is a German rock guitarist, composer and producer. His collaboration with Robert Palmer culminated in the Grammy-nominated album ''Drive'', released in 2003. In 2005, Carlton joined Eric Burdon and the Animals. The collaboration resulted in the Grammy-nominated album '' Soul of a Man'', released in 2006. Carlton has released five albums with his own band, Carl Carlton and the Songdogs and two solo albums. Carlton grew up on a farm in Northern Germany, leaving for the Netherlands at age 17. Christopher Hamlet Thompson (born 9 March 1948) is an English singer and guitarist known both for his work with Manfred Mann's Earth Band, specifically for his lead vocal on the classic hit "Blinded By the Light" and for his solo accomplishments. Biography Thompson was born in Ashford, Kent, England, but raised in New Zealand. His early musical experiences were whilst still at school with the band The Paragons that played at weekly church youth club dances. Later, as his talent became clear, the band was reformed as Dynasty with other musicians and achieved much local success on the New Zealand music scene. Jean-Jacques Kravetz (born 23 May 1947) is a French keyboardist, saxophonist and composer. ''The Voice of Germany'' is a German reality television, reality talent show created by John de Mol, based on the concept ''The Voice of Holland'' and its The Voice (franchise), international series.
